I like San Luis Pass, but you have to be careful of the very soft sand. Jeeps can easily get stuck. Drive smart, pay attention to tides, and you will not have any problems. I have seen cars/trucks totaled out there from getting caught on a sandbar when the tides come in.Port Aransas, TX. Miles of drivable beach and even some "off-road only" sections.
We're heading down to Rockport tomorrow for the rest of the week. Unfortunately, I will not be driving the jeep. we will get out on the beach to drive for a ways, but not down on Padre Island. We'll stick to Mustang Island.Port Aransas, TX. Miles of drivable beach and even some "off-road only" sections.
That first picture is damn close to promotional/brochure quality.Carova, OBX NC - a bit of a road trip from NJ, but worth the ride!

In most places they are very, very protective of the beaches in order to preserve the dunes and vegetation that create the beach. All the beaches locally have a 10mph limit and if you open it up that is probably the last time you will get on that beach and also get a hefty fine. The beaches are usually patrolled quite often plus the general public here will report speeders in a heart beat as they don’t want you there to begin with. Are there any ORV parks you could go to? I have seen videos where you can go, open it up and have some fun.Any places where you can really open it up and have some fun, like in the TV commercials?
The issue I always ran into, especially in Daytona, was the speed limit was basically idle-speed.
