Post why in the comments. I'm considering a diesel because I plan on making an overland build. I'm debating if the MPG/possible slight bump in reliability gains are really worth an expected 5k bump in price and more waiting though when I could just account for more fuel. What are you guys thinking?

I'm waiting on the JT and will be going with the 3.6 because it's the only option with a manual tranny.

Pentastar + BSG. For me, it's all about the initial cost of engine plus fuel costs. I don't think the turbo will be that more efficient with 91 fuel, and the diesel's initial costs will be too high.

Current vehicle is a 3.0 turbo diesel w/ 8 speed and I think it would be a great fit for the JL, but just not sure I can pass up ordering a manual 3.6 as soon as a few more details are known.

JT with the Diesel. To me the diesel has better drivability (based on Grand Cherokee test drives), better fuel economy, will do better due to the low end TQ with 37" tires, and more tow capacity,. Also I'm betting on better resale value

3.6 Penta - tried and true, and I trust it.

The ESS sound has me spooked a bit, but time will tell. I'm sure it'll be fine or there will be a hack to disable it.

You need to add an "undecided" option. I want info on all choices and the ability to test them before making a decision.

If you are going to use it off-road, the diesel is going to be by far the best motor, if you can afford it.

Diesel here, unless the 2.0L 360HP is true then it will be a very difficult decision.
