What gas mileage are you getting on your XR?

Before anyone roasts me, I know my Rubicon XR is a beast and built for
not good mpg….however, my average mpg seems low and I’m curious to see how others compare.
Computer system is saying that I average anywhere from 13-15 MPG depending on whether I drive locally or on highway.

I do have a slightly heavy foot, but I’ve been trying to be tame and don’t see much improvement.

I have the 3.6L V6 24V eTorque engine for what it’s worth.

Thoughts? Any testimonials from anyone else that has a XR? These $6/gallon gas prices in CA have me questioning my life decisions and whether I should have gotten a 4xe Lol.

I was getting 17mpg around town with no highway in Dallas. I live in the mountains of Utah with tons of highway and get 17-18.5mpg depending on how much climbing I'm doing. I'm very happy with that since it's better than my 4R. I bet I could get 19-20 around town, but the highways are 80mph in Utah. That kills it going uphill.

tbh that is really good for 3.6 etq xr with big axle 35 and low gear. I have the lightest vehicle with all the aero parts and only getting 19 mpg city, not exactly light footed but still.

XR Auto 3.6 with 3,xxx miles and and getting 17-17.5 mpg per tank. I have a very light foot/relaxed driver.

4.56 gears with the small 35 BFGs is going to result in low mpg. May actually see better MPG by adding a 37 BFG.

I’m lower than most people in this thread too and my 2019 3.6L Rubicon (2 doors, manual transmission) is not even lifted and doesn’t have large tires. I’m averaging 12.8 mpg. All very short drives, rarely exceeding 30 mph.

Back when I commuted farther and drove about 70% / 30% highway / city I averaged 17.8 mpg.

2.0 rubi xr seeing right at 18 on the dash, and manually calculated. i do have a heavy foot. but try to stay around 5 ish over on the freeways. IM in northern va.

23 Willys JLU XR 2.0T. Got 800 miles on it so far (still smells new).

In town driving, mid teens.

However, today was going on a bit of a highway trip, so I reset the MPG thing on the dash as I was approaching the highway. Was getting 19.something MPG up to just over 21 MPG on the highway.

I'm not complaining. My lifted and locked 98 TJ with the 2.5 engine (4.88 gears and 33" tires) gets 16 MPG on a good day.

I'm right at 15 on the dash with 960 miles. It has slowly been going up though. With the 2.0l

3.6 eTorque XR getting between 19-20, base don the dash. We live at higher elevation (8,700ft). The air is thinner with less wind resistance so we tend to get a little better fuel mileage.

I have a bit over 12K miles and I get around 19ish in town and about 16-17 on the highway. Granted for me its a couple of miles from my house to any stop light so I get long stretches of cruising at 50.
