Before anyone roasts me, I know my Rubicon XR is a beast and built for
not good mpg….however, my average mpg seems low and I’m curious to see how others compare.
Computer system is saying that I average anywhere from 13-15 MPG depending on whether I drive locally or on highway.

I do have a slightly heavy foot, but I’ve been trying to be tame and don’t see much improvement.

I have the 3.6L V6 24V eTorque engine for what it’s worth.

Thoughts? Any testimonials from anyone else that has a XR? These $6/gallon gas prices in CA have me questioning my life decisions and whether I should have gotten a 4xe Lol.

That's probably pretty normal for a new Jeep. I was averaging around 13-14 when my 2.0T etorque was new. I now average a little over 17. Takes a while for the drivetrain to break in. Once it gets around 8k miles it will probably improve. I have no experience with the 3.6, but in my experience the hemis are like that too. They just run much better after you get some miles on them. Just going to have to drive it for a while. And keep driving it the way you're driving it, (no babying) it's better for the break in.

I'm getting about 21.5MPG combined city + highway (NYC) after 1.3K miles. I do not have a heavy foot. It would be much lower if I did.

XR Auto 3.6 with 3,xxx miles and and getting 17-17.5 mpg per tank. I have a very light foot/relaxed driver.

4.56 gears with the small 35 BFGs is going to result in low mpg. May actually see better MPG by adding a 37 BFG.

3.6 etorque XR with 2k miles. I'm showing 16.5 with all city driving. I took a 200 mile trip recently mostly highway and got 21 mpg.

With my XR , I purposely have a light foot. Average 17 mpg city/hwy… I’m going thru $400 a month on fuel, Easily! I do a lot of driving, wondering if I should have got a 4xE instead. Just can’t seem to get a straight answer/understand, how well it does with mpg. For people who drive a lot, More then 20 miles a day.

I found it interesting that I was at 18 but when I run naked, it’s closer to 16. 2.0t with 37s.

wow you all are getting much better MPG then me! I don't have a factory XR, but I do have 37in tires & 3in lift 3.6L V6 24V eTorque with 4,100 miles. I don't do much highway driving; and it sticks around 10.6-11.4 mpg

I’m lower than most people in this thread too and my 2019 3.6L Rubicon (2 doors, manual transmission) is not even lifted and doesn’t have large tires. I’m averaging 12.8 mpg. All very short drives, rarely exceeding 30 mph.

Back when I commuted farther and drove about 70% / 30% highway / city I averaged 17.8 mpg.
