Are Emissions tests not a thing in Texas?
Not for diesels. Also only in 17 of the 250 something counties in the state, are emissions testing done, and only for gasers. So the vast majority of people, even if they had an illegal tune done, who's going to even know? No one inspects the vehicles here. :captain:

Unless you got the EPA showing up to your house, or a Statie sees you rolling copious amounts of coal on the roads, and decides to actually do something about it for once, you're basically in the clear here.

That's my take on it. No rush! I got three more years before I need to start worrying about it. ;)
My warranty expires on December 13th so im ready to get this weight reduction done asap. Im very happy this morning that I havent regretted buying that ehxuast once. I was worried I would feel bad abut buying it... tune soon. Gotta do one good look through my whole car before any install though and fix any issues under warranty.

The way the wind is blowing these days, I'm surprised that the EPA isn't offering to help steal the DPFs. :)
I wish that's how things were. I'd do anything to live in the days of pre-emission vehicles. I'm very young to be in this discussion compared to a lot of other folks I've seen here; I'm not even 20 yet.

Hopefully, I can get this done and not hear about it, though. I used to work at a dealer where I did state inspections at (i still hold my state inspection license, worst case scenario), so I have plenty of connections to get around inspections come time. Not just the emissions I have to worry about, my window tint is *allegedly* illegal, being *allegedly* 1% in the rear, 2% in the front, and 25% on the front windshield lol

There's been a lot more talk than in recent years. I'm hoping we at least get repair exemptions soon so I don't have to fix mine after it randomly gets a hole in it.

A good friend of ours had deleted his 2017 Ram 6.7L Cummins. Well out of warranty. Apparently there was a fundamental design flaw where a bolt melted, got sucked into his intake manifold, then into a cylinder...resulting in complete engine failure.

Now he's looking at somewhere between $20 and $30k for an engine. Yes, it's well out of warranty, but it'd actually be covered if he hadn't deleted it.

I'm trying to talk him into getting the emissions crap from a junkyard and slap it all back on so the engine replacement would be free, but for some reason he doesn't want to go down that path.

Not saying it could happen here (our EcoDiesels are much better than a Cummins, right(???)), but heads-up just in case.

If my emissions stuff falls of along side the road, I'll be a good citizen and pick it up. I got a shelf in the garage where I store all the stuff that's fallen of my rigs/toys. You never know when you'll need it.

I think I'm getting about time to give Jenny Craig a call.😎

Definitely keep us updated. Always love hearing more information to add to the knowledge of how EOC is. They've gone mixed reviews in the past, but I don't know too many people who've had issue with them. 🤷‍♂️

I want to say @Ratbert did, but don't hold me to that. Been a minute since I thought about it.

Nope, the only engine-related stuff I've done is to add a Holley CAI to my last 3.6L JLUR. That resulted in a slightly more aggressive sound, but it also gave an extremely noticeable / aggravating dip in torque at about 2,800. Not recommended.

A delete or other tweaks might be in the pipeline post-warranty, but who knows.

Shoot, My bad. I never know who I talked to about what nowadays. So much going on everything, gets all jumbled together!

(Btw, you ain't a real Jeep fan unless you know what she's driving in this clip above, which is also the only redeeming thing in this whole movie!)

Steal the emissions, it’s illegal here in the US to delete them, so sometimes they just get stolen or lost or even fall off. nobody would dare intentionally remove them…

as far as the derringer goes, i had one and have had nothing but bad experiences with it. I ripped it out last week and it along with the pedal monster is trash to me but i’ll have it listen to sale on facebook marketplace shortly.

My dpf was actually just replaced less than 5k miles ago, so if there’s a market for those i’ll be selling mine

As far as deleting the emissions goes, i did order the EOC “race” exhaust tonight. i’ll order to tune sometime later but im in no rush right now.
Sounds like the way to go 🤙🏼

So, @harrish24 did you complete the weight loss plan? How'd it turn out?
I’m sorry! I’m just now seeing this! I did, and it’s absolutely wonderful! I have absolutely no complaints other than I want to drive even more and I can’t afford the diesel these days! haha

It definitely was the way to go. I get 26 mpg with a 3.5" lift on 37s. Its a great experience with overall better reliability. Looking to get a catch can now!
