Hello Germany - Interesting read. 1st sentence, true enough . . . but "Labor Dynamics" applies to ALL aspects of Worldwide Corporate Behavior! Yes? Absolutely. Greed knows NO boundaries. Not a"Jeep thing". The next few sentences, sighting Q.C. examples, without 1st hand knowledge, basing them on readily available "news/opinion" stories SHOULD be "beneath us all. Enough "FAKE NEWS" going around as it is - if you catch my drift ( and I think you do). Ah Capitalism, it's such a wonderful thing . . . until it isn't ! Personally, I prefer "Social-Capitalism," not just a play on words.
Easter eggs? Really? We American Consumers don't give a "Rats Ass" (care less) about that shit (how do you say shit is German? - I took a year of it (the language) in 11th grade but don't recall. Maximum Corporate Fodder! The popular Euro-Jeep Renegade (ours too) is OVERKILL with it. Of that I'm sure we can agree?
Your, "Meanwhile the workers . . . not a recipe for high quality." -- ? -- these type of 1st person comments from someone who can not speak truthfully from that perspective, well it frankly is insulting! As for the next few lines . . . more 1st person speculating. Question is WHY? ANY Company/Corporation - you left out 'PUBLICLY TRADED' (which are the ones "concerned" about quarterly profits here) primary "mission" in life, is to make the majority of their "important" Share Holders Profitable. Thus further Investment Capitol. Reaffirming the adage - 'The Rich get Richer and the Poor get Poorer'! Now to be far, I'm not a capitalist, socialist or economist . . . but I've "lived" and "experienced" money-matters for awhile, including in a Union or two before my Navy Career, and I'm "higher educated". I try never to speak "truths" that I don't know are truly true, without prefacing of my ignorance on the matter. Let me say this; I am not scolding you, I'm wanting to enlighten you from OUR (American) perspective.
One thing I CAN agree with is the "war mentality" aspect . . . that is America. It does seem to be Engrained in our souls for so long! Well, since before we became a nation! I can't recall a 20-25 year stretch where we were not in some "conflict" in the world - "Congressionally Declared" or "Presidentially Usurped" !
Well Pablo . . . seems we got way off topic . . . to which I apologize profusely to my fellow Jeepers ! But your "outsider" comments struck some cord in me to "need to" reply. Hope all is well in Deutsch-Land for you & yours.
Full Circle -- GO UNIONS !

:flag:
BTW, while I have never been a member of a union, I have worked in US factories. Several in fact.
I have also served 6 years in the US armed forces. I lived my first 38 years in America, so I am not exactly an "outsider" as you say. Certainly someone with a different perspective, having lived under multiple systems and multiple countries. (Hint.. avoid the middle east)
The Easter Egg thing, that is not my opinion actually. Part of my job is going global certifications for car companies and their ODMs and OEMs.
One of them (won't mention which company) was in our lab some months back and I asked him what the point of putting little slightly hidden logos on bits a pieces. He told me the reason was I had mentioned above. Money. People are more likely to replace a part at the dealer or with OEM parts when it has that Easter Eggs because otherwise it will be obvious that they are not using original parts. That means a lot of extra cash flow.
Maybe you don't care about that and nor do I to be truthful, but clearly some people do otherwise they would not waste the money.
I guess the rest is getting too philosophical for a Jeep forum, so we can skip that bit ;)
I do thank you for your insight and respectful disagreement though.

.....and I thought derailments at work were bad....

I'm curious, is that first JT that rolled off the line recently (I think it was a silver Rubicon), a test run or part of the 7,000 order?

The shutdown to retool for the hybrid engine has been moved up. We will now be shutdown April 18th to May 13th. (Subject to change)
We are working 7 days a week until then.

The Government order for just over 7k JT's has been verified. These 7k units must be built before any can be sold to public consumers. JT is going to go on a critical launch mandatory 7 days a week for up to 3 months if needed to complete orders. No announcement on when the launch will start. Rumor is 2-3 weeks.

Some of you know that this is the last year of our contract. If you have heard anything that happened during the last contract then you know there was a lot of corruption with both FCA and UAW. Some people have went to prison and some are still being investigated. There is a lot more to it but to much to explain. UAW has increased the strike fund and we all have been told to put some extra money away because it's very likely that we will be striking. Negotiations don't start until end of summer.

I personally hope that we don't strike but we are not going to let FCA continue taking things away from us.
I hope you guys make Overtime! I'd be down for that kind of Overtime if you did!!!!

AS DO I . . . so I would like to make a generalization about "your approach" to writing your post . . . indulge me ALL . . . !
Though not intentional Imo, but not able to substantiate, I felt sort of "set up" to fail in responding ! Let me explain . . .
I see your "name" and no photo and the location (Germany) and my reaction was, "Oh a Foreign Asset (jeep fan)."
Turns out you've been "Americanized" to a certain extent, yes ? Now IF you would of Clarified your position during your initial post - as you now have - I may of approached my response (or not of felt the need to respond), perhaps differently !? Follow ?
This Happens "here" (forums in general) more than I like . Feels like one of those "power struggles" over the "innocent bystander" situations ! ? I'm the type (personality) to get "to the point" without leaving the listener "wanting for more" !
Which is why my posts tend to be longer . . . ! ^^^. Nothing wrong about being philosophical on a jeep forum as long as it is within context ! This one did and has gone a stray some . . . but hey, it could become a learning tool ! ? I do still (respectfully) disagree with the use of "Easter Eggs" - some love them some not so much - personally when they get "silly" or to numerous . . . that turns me off . Someday I expect Jeep to put an Easter Egg on the dash that simple says -- 'EASTER EGG' -- and we're left to "wonder" . . . :computerrage: . At home this - :ontheloo: - is where I do most of my wondering . ;)
I've had a good time with the chatting . . . take care over there . ps; My Navy Career took me to many places around the MED., but never got to go to Germany, though I've relatives thru marriage ! Curious ? Not me, my oldest brother (Retired Army) married a Nice German Girl ! Brought her home . . . Surprise ! :)

No. 80 JTs were made yesterday, all white Rubicons, all for the government. Looks like they are making some for customers and then government.

He probably ditched the forums because there were too many negative people. Here everyone bitched about unions, on the Gladiator forum, he was attacked repeatedly and called a liar after posting information. He tried to explain that he was an insider and was ridiculed and ripped on.

Would you want to help ungrateful people that treat you like garbage? I wouldn't.

I could be wrong, but that would be my reason to leave if I was him.

Updates regarding what? Yes they are running desiels here and there for test purposes.... I wouldn't get hopes up for a 3.6l bsg.... Hybrids will be in pilot phase soon... Plant is idle for 3 weeks starting Monday

Im not going to give you a yes or no answer because everything is rumors at this point and nothing is 100%, but i wouldn't bank on a 3.6 bsg for a long while

And as for the diesels they are running more and more test cars which usually means they are getting ready to launch them... I can't give/know a time frame, but i would take a guess after this 3 week shutdown / retool they will start building them more.... They are trying to fine tune things at the moment
