Ok crap I have no idea when the strike is going to end and then how long before I get my Jeep I ordered a white rubicon x with a 3.6 sot winch and side rails. That was July 1 well it now Oct 15 strike is still going strong right? I didn’t think there were any 24 available but. I was wrong. I stumbled across many but because this is California they are all 2.0 plug ins. I know this has been covered elsewhere I’ll ask again will the 2.0 run 200,000 miles? Does it take premium? I saw on the window sticker. Something like 2.0 plug in electric premium which makes me think it does. Out of all you 2.0 plug in electric. Guys out there do any of you regret getting that motor combo? I am pretty sure I could go get the Jeep I saw tomorrow it is at the same dealer I ordered mine from. So should I or shouldn’t I ???

Also. Does the 4xe X have 456 gears or 410.? I thought the x packagev had 456 gears but was unsure about the 4xe X ?

Unless you question your build choice or have a need for it immediately have patience, it will pass. The mfg’s are losing money and the strikers have bills. Decisions made in haste with stress or emotion are usually wrong. If you were originally torn between you’re chosen order and a 4Xe then get one. Notable mention- solid state batteries announced by Toyota beginning in 25 with higher performance 900 mi range 10 min charge in 27-28. Hybrid range will proportionally increase. All mfg’s soon to follow. Possible current model purchase sustaining substantial diminished value before you pay it off. I would not buy any battery vehicle at this time, but a 27/28 LC 58 might end up in the GC’s garage spot. 2c ? B&P shows 4Xe X 4.10 only. ??‍♂ FWIW

Do a forum search on 2.0 fuel requirements and you will find so much info and differing opinions your head will want to explode. Mine has 39k miles on regular fuel and no problems or issues. Good luck getting your Jeep.

Thanks and very good points. Also I realized tha the rubicon 4xe x also only has 410 gears and 33s. I wanted the the 456 and 35s. Good reasons to wait

The experience of the PHEV 4 cyl. is going to be different than that of the NA V6. If the add'l. hardware and software encumbrances on the former aren't concerning, then maybe it's worth your serious consideration.

Per the Owner's Manual, the 2.0T accepts 87, but 91 is suggested according to the owner's use case. That's the beginning and the end of it, breathless forum chat on the subject notwithstanding.

The turbo 4 is nine model years old. It has proven to be a reliable engine. Being unimpressed with the Pentastar after 3 proper test drives, I configured my JLU with the 2.0T, sight- and test-drive unseen. The wisdom of my choice is validated every time I drive the Jeep. One data point from one owner, but my conclusions are earned.

What you want your Wrangler to be configured with is the correct answer. ?

With proper care and maintenance, any modern engine will hit 200K miles with ease (or it'll explode, because they're mass-produced and everything that's mass-produced has a certain failure tolerance). But the 2.0L is not inherently a non-200K-mile engine due to its design or anything.

The owner's manual for the 2.0L says that regular unleaded is just fine, but that premium can be used for "optimal performance". There are plenty of folks on the forum who have run the 2.0L on regular for tens of thousands of miles with no issues. Me personally, as I also intend to run mine for at least 200K miles, I run premium, as "optimal performance" is precisely what I want.

I test-drove the 3.6L and the 2.0L back-to-back before placing my order and the 2.0L was significantly more fun to drive, with plenty of pep. 2+ years into ownership I've not regretted it (OK, maybe I regretted it when gas was $4+) nor have I ever wanted for power on the trails.

@2nd 392 is absolutely right on the battery innovation front, though, and a 2024 4xe with the two-way charging is (IMO) significantly better than a 2023 4xe.

ALL THAT BEING SAID...if you're not in a rush, just wait it out man. The wait sucks, 100%, and IMO you're more likely to actually get a 2025 than a 2024 at this point.

We've been hovering between $2.90-3.50/gal here in Texas for a while for regular.

At least you have a reasonable price difference between regular -> premium. I swear when I was younger, it was a $0.10 difference as you stepped up. Here lately it's more like $0.30 per step.

I remember when it was $4.50+, and it started dropping, everyone got excited. I told them then - don't get too excited, it'll never go much below $3/gal again. The oil companies know we'll pay it now. Why would they go any lower?

No wonder all of California is moving here. Reg unleaded is about $2.90 a gallon right now.

That pic is definitely not typical of the price difference. I have replaced it with a more typical one- my bad ? I use CFN, the price is a surprise when you get the bill. They also add taxes separately to disguise the per gallon price.

Wait, pause. I didn’t know about the Toyota battery thing. Ugh, now I’m questioning my ‘24 order

I couldn’t get a link— search Toyota solid state ev battery. From the most recent report that includes the official announcement.

As long as the manual says recommended and not required you can run any grade you feel like. It’s maybe 5 hp between grades at 5,000 rpm
