Yeah, even $40 for an OEM disposable filter seems a bit much. Think I paid that price for my K&N Select DryFLOW panel filter for my JL (AEM-spec that's oddly hard to find).My bad, for some reason I had Wrangler in my head and NOT 3.6 Grand Cherokee. The 3.6 GC genuine Mopar filter looks to be $50 and change. BUT myself I see no reason to stay MOPAR for a filter. I would buy a reasonable non Mopar filter for that. MOPAR did not make it, it was made by someone else and marketed as Mopar.
strong chance it’s a wix filter. Possibly champion labs, aka Fram.
And yes, it's highly unlikely that Mopar is making the filters themselves, let alone the striking UAW union workers that only assemble parts in a factory ?
