Today I was working on fine-tuning my bump stop height and noticed that my passenger tire would bump deeper than the driver's tire before the Jeep started to lift off the jack stands. There is no interference when both wheels are pushed into the bump stops simultaneously. I cannot see anything contacting to stop the driver’s tire from bumping deeper so I’m guessing that it’s a control arm max mid-alignment issue? Does anyone have experience with this or ideas on how to get the driver's side to match the passenger?

The driver's side gets 9" off the ground before lifting the Jeep off the stands.

Passenger side gets 10.5" off the ground and only lifts the Jeep off the stands when the bump stops engage.

Just a guess here, maybe it’s the way the track bar mounts to the vehicle. The axle shifts towards the passenger side as axle height is raised. It seems plausible that this might help the passenger side articulate more than the driver side. As the driver’s front corner is being raised, there is a small competition between the two track bar connections. The upper driver’s side wants to shift up but the lower passenger side has the advantage while pulling the axle towards the passenger side.

Agreed, also putting more tension in the control arm bushings causing binding.

Trackbar limits one side more than the other. I bet if you tried the same test with the rear axle the difference in travel would be opposite the front (assuming you don’t have a rear TB relocation bracket)

It’s the nature of the beast…… t.b. mount to frame, uca connected to top of diff, and the d.s. is on that side…. You see in my pics that driver stuff the rear wheel is coming up, and passenger stuff rear wheel is down……So when you’re showing off make sure to stuff passenger side…….?

Is it safe to run the bump stops as I have them now where max drivers side flex will be limited by bind instead of the bump stop? (No interference or contact at full bump when not articulating to the max)

Adding enough bump stop to prevent this will cut available up travel by over 50%.

I love up travel but I don’t want to rip brackets off the frame either.

You’re fine….. it’s not like you’re not hitting the bump, you’re just not hitting it as hard…. As long as your shock is not bottoming out and you’re not ripping off fenders you’re good…..
