New tire/wheel package shows up tomorrow. 38x13.50 Trail Grapps on Method 106 Beadlocks, -44mm. Factory 44s, 3.5" Gamechanger, 3-4.5" Bilstein 5160s. Front bump is 3" with stock jounce, rear is 2" with MC Durospring jounce.

I'll reset bumps on the ramp, but wanted to go ahead and knock out trimming/painting, and any control arm length adjustments while I'm swapping out the tires. Would like to keep bump to a minimum.

Rear control arms are set at MC specs, damn near stock. Anyone seen a clearance benefit to making a small adjustment there?

Would appreciate any recommendations on trimming layout of the pinch seam to make it look as clean as possible. What bump did you end up with?

When my wife's JLUR went from a 37" BFG to a 40" MT I trimmed the back edge of the rear fender slightly (it seems like about 1/2" on the end and tapered up to meet the OEM edge). I hit it with some primer and never looked back! Hers is a 3.5" MC GC with +12mm Raceline wheels.

Interested in your upgrade and required changes. I'm on Mickey Thompson BBAT 37s, with Icon Rebound Pro Innerlok 4.5" backspace. Thinking about 38s next go-around.

I was/am so anal about my rear wheels being centered in the wheel well that I trimmed the rear pinch even with 37s….. didn’t want to control it with bump, didn’t want to mess up my articulation…I just clipped the lower corners and filled with JB Weld and painted them…. But when I go to 38s I’m thinking I’ll have to trim more, so at that point I’ll do a nice big arc to balance it out…..probably start at the back of where I trimmed it already and draw a sweep up to nothing somewhere at the top of the well…..

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll at least follow the edge of the liners for now. Abrasive cut off wheel on a grinder work well?

Funny how huge the camera makes these look sitting in front of the 37" KO2s.

lol…yeah looks like a 40, lol….yes cutoff wheel worked great for me…I cut behind the rivets so I filled the void with JB weld, it’s held up great for 6 years now…

When I changed to 40s I left my Metalcloak control arms at their recommended setting, which exactly centers the tire opening. I trimmed the pinch seams all the way off. I simply trimmed every bit of pinch seam off I could, without getting into the double wall part of the body, and followed a smooth arc up the fender, decreasing the amount of trimming as I went. Rear bump stops have 3 of the Metalcloak bump stop spacers in place. Aren't they about 3/4" thick each? So that would be 2 1/4" bump stop extension. Clearance is close, but no tire rub.

37” BFG are on the small size so it’s no surprise when you compare them to a real tire.

Got Adams up front, still rocking the factory DS in the rear…..
How much did you lengthen your rear control arms?

Hey Matt, I'm running Dirty Life beadlocks with -38 offset, 38x13.5 Falken RT and was previously running the Nitto Trails. I'm on a 3.5" lift with no rear fender liners, motobilt front fender liners and KBD fenders. I had to trim nothing except about 4" off of the stock Rubi rock sliders. When I get a chance I will go grab some measurements off of my MC arms and bumps, etc...
To me 38 is the sweet spot where you get a hefty tire with no trim. I'm shocked some of thee guys are trimming w 37s and 38s. I've been beyond full flex where the tire is actually hanging above ground and just then I barely touch the top of the tire up front.

These are MC jounce and RK pucks if I remember right. With a 3.5" Teraflex springs and a 3/4" level puck up front you use 3 pucks up front and 1 puck on top of the base in the rear. I think I only trimmed about 2" of rock slider and then filled the void with expanding foam and them rubbed silicon goo on it.
