This shouldn't be that difficult, you don't need an adapter. You need to sort out the trailer wiring, do you have a multi-meter or a battery powered test light? You say the curt tester shows all is good with the JLU. If your 7/4 pin connector is like mine on my 2019 the 7 pin receptacle is rotated 90 degrees to the left i.e key-way facing left not on top. I would verify that Pin 1 (ground) is in the proper location on the Jeep and the trailer.

I agree it shouldn’t be this difficult. The JLU should be plug and play just like the GMC but that’s not the case. The trailer has a 6 round, the JLU has a 7 pin so yes an adapter is necessary. Look at the pictures I posted it will show what I’m working with. And you’re correct when I connect the 7 pin to the JLU it is rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

OK sorry, in the beginning it sounded like the trailer had a 7 pin connector.

I know it's not your trailer, but why a 6 round? does it have brakes or backup lights? Or just the standard stop/turn and tail?

I believe it came with the 6 round. It does not have brakes or back up lights so just standard stop/turn.

It's "on-the-ball" right? Ground or not, I've seen many not work unless it is grounded solidly on the ball/hitch.

Converting it to a 4 flat would make it much simpler if everyone else that uses it was agreeable

I’ve tried it both on the ball/hitch and off but no luck.

I was hoping there was a 6 round to the 4 flat adapter but I was unable to find anything.

There are adapters that go from 7 pin on the jeep to 6 pin on the trailer.
Yes, I currently have that adapter. I just purchased a 4 flat to 7 blade to test if it works with the 4 flat.

Your "utility trailer" had a 7 pin connector on it and not a 4 pin connector?

Also... it is not unusual for a guy/gal to plug in the 7 pin in incorrectly into the JL's female 7 pin receptacle... Yup.
Watch closely closely next time you try to connect that 7 pin. Good chance error on your part.
I wouyld think maybe trailer is wired wrong as well, I'd use a 4 pin for utility.

The connector on the factory tow package has a 4 flat built in
