Yes, this may be the dumbest question in the world but I’m not car savvy. I need a pin for my trailer hitch. I have a 2025 Rubicon X. I know it’s a 2” receiver but the pins come in 5/8” or 1/2”. Which do I get? I have no idea what class the stock hitch would be. Please no judgement!

Dude, that's not even the dumbest question that's been asked here in the past 10 minutes. Good on you for asking for clarification on something that could end very badly if simply guessed at (especially for those following you).

Now, please don't screw it up by taking the next 20 pages to tell us why we were wrong. ;)

I recommend the locking pin. In the past, I've had pins pulled while parked. A walk-around should be performed for safety when towing. I do it at each rest stop and prior to leaving after it's been parked.

Wow, that's a dick-move right there...
Sometimes people get pissed, like at an auction, and other times they are simply azzholes.

I do the same pre-flight check before every motorcycle ride. Most recently, it allowed me to discover a non-functioning brake light on the Suzuki. Electrical troubleshooting, a necessary evil, is on the docket.

I use a grade eight 5/8 bolt that's long enough so no threads are in contact with the hitch. A washer and a split washer on each side, and a grade eight nylon locking nut that's cranked down tight (you'd need a cheater bar to loosen it).
