Hahahaha, well I guess those amber lights are not going on my Jeep's roof ?. Nooo sir.
NHTSA | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Requires Commercial truck to have them, not sure why, but all my F 450 trucks have had them as OEM, not an option.

You can up-classify your vehicle or just run because you like them.

Little hard to see, but I have 4 on the roof of my F 450 KR. Look at the green circle:

YES I have seen them on a JEEP! In fact not uncommon on Jeep!

Well I am new to the Jeepin' thing and did not know any better. After having been hammered mercilessly for the last three days, I got the message: "duh" and learned my lesson?. I did learn about those lights and why trucks use them.
Please, please don't ask about the best angry grill next.

I don't know if it's illegal strictly speaking but personally I don't like the idea of people diluting the meaning of the lights by using them on non-commercial vehicles.

As somebody who travels with wider vehicles on a lot of back country roads getting to farms and and other out of the way locations field side I don't really want to see people putting amber marker lights on vehicles that don't require them.
As mentioned several times now, the OEMs themselves were/are installing clearance lights on light trucks that may not or don't strictly require them. My father's 2500 Suburban had them from new.

Like installing so-called pre-runner lights on a Wrangler, I view add-on clearance lights as the owners playing a bit of harmless dress-up. That said, I do also agree with the validity of your take on the matter.

Our 2018 Ram PowerWagon has a row across the cab from factory. Like OP, I think it gives the rig a very distinct look. Why Ram felt a truck no wider than a half ton needed them is beyond me, I just know you’re not gonna buy a PowerWagon without them.

would I add them to the two piece detachable roof on my JL? Probably not but if I did, it’d be the easiest to spot on the trail with just the running lights on.

Some folks are being too harsh on you. If you like the way something looks on your Jeep, go for it! As long as you are not breaking any laws or creating a safety issue, who really cares.

Hi everyone, can these type of lights be installed on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler JL Sports Unlimited? I have looked for something similar but all I see is in the form of light bars.

Look man I am a firm believer in if you like it then rock it. I can’t stand those angry grills but other people like how they look. I’m not gonna bash them for that. I have the quadratec j6 light bar that also has amber led in it just like that. Does it serve any functional purpose? No, it does not other than the sole purpose of making me smile because I like how it looks. That is all that matters in the end. My only remark about the ones you like is you better love them if you’re going to be drilling into your roof

Not going to happen, I am not drilling holes in my hard top, no sir. In fact, I just bought the quadratec lights to go inside the front grill and will be happy with how they look. That's all I am looking for.

Hell no is right. Thank you guys for straigthening me out
Look at something like this:

https://a.co/d/gxOeZgx

They look good in the grill. There are plenty of companies that make these, more $ will get you something more vehicle specific, but these are universal and work well. They function nicely with the oem aux switches (if you have them).

Aren't these "required" for vehicles over 80 inches wide? That's why the f150 raptor has the three grill lights.

Do the wheels/tires count toward the 80 inches wide or is the body? I've never bothered to look up which it is.
I believe wheels/tires count in the measurement. There was a recent post about someone getting a ticket because the overall width of the vehicle... they were told by law enforcement they needed the proper marker lights.
