Is it just my Jeep or are everyone's stock LED headlights too bright? I've been doing quite a bit of driving after dark on 70 MPH two-lane roads in central Texas. I'm getting flashed 3-4 times every night because oncoming traffic thinks my high beams are on. I don't blame them at all - who wants to be blinded by while we close at 140 MPH? Anyway, are others having issues? Is there an adjustment I can make to mine? I have a stock 2018 JLUR. Thanks in advance.

Are you lifted? Any chance your lights need adjusting because if that?

Yes, they are bright. Too bright? eah, that's a matter of opinion.

But yes, they need to be adjusted down. Those headlights have a sharp cutoff, and once properly adjusted (for a given loading) it will help others coming at you a lot.

Here's a tutorial
jl headlight adjuster location - Google Search

I would just add that you should measure the height of the center of your headlights, then set them to have the cutoff about 1/4" down per foot of distance from the wall. So, at 25 feet from the wall, you should adjust the cutoff line to about 5" down from the center of your headlights.

It's quite easily to adjust your JL/JL headlights..

Re-aiming your JL's headlights is easy easy to do yourself with a Phillips head screwdriver ... it takes but a few minutes to do.

Read here:

Hint.... with 2 small colored Sharpie marks/dots, mark on each adjuster. Mark your stock adjustment / factory adjustment. This way you have lets say a starting point to use if you ever need it..

Modern LED headlight arrays can be dazzling, no doubt about it. This includes the factory headlights on the JL-generation Wrangler. They're dead simple to adjust, requiring nothing more than an aiming point and a 6mm t-handle Allen wrench. Don't be surprised if oncoming drivers continue to flash you, though, even if it's just once in a while and when your low beams are on and properly aimed. That's just a consequence of the manner in which such headlights process the light output.

I've been a flasher and a flashee, so to speak, and more than twice have the high beams been activated briefly to signify that they weren't on at the time.

I picked up my 2018 JLUR about 9 months ago, used, obviously, and although there were no mods that i know of, the headlights were pointed up to the sky. Not sure if it came from the factory that way, but it was easy to adjust, and no one flashes me anymore.

My 2018 JLUR came with halogen headlights. Couldn't see much with those. I was trying to order the factory LED headlights, but they were backordered for more than a year. Finally watched this video and decided on the SV.4 LED bulbs. The quality of the beam is great. It has a sharp cutoff and little if any scatter above the cutoff. I never get flashed. I objected to LED bulbs in reflector housings until I saw these and tried them.
Check out the beam pattern at 4:22 time hack.

Ambient lighting can also have effect on relative brightness. ie Vehicle lights looks much brighter when driving on dimly lit roads vs well-lit highways. (Obviously) Dark surroundings make lights seem brighter.
I’ve been flashed few times on rural roads in the middle of the night.

That's what's happening to me. In the city I don't get flashed but on country roads I get flashed quite often.

Bone stock ā€˜23 Willys. I normally get high beamed by all the punks in lowered pos Hondas that think I have my high beams on. I finally had enough and high beam the fukrs back.
So yeah, the low beam LEDs are pretty bright.

Jeeps are tall vehicles even without a lift. It's a truck frame after all.
I had a Honda Element that was tallish and barely ever noticed headlights that were awful.
Had a Mini Cooper after that and it was suddenly a huge adjustment because EVERY CAR/TRUCK had bright as fuck headlights....because I was super low comparatively. Never realized.
Jeep is tall, gonna seem bright to most people regardless.

Right on! Yeah, when I drive my little sedan, I get blinded all the time by taller vehicles.

I aimed my down a bit. If you look closely you can tell whether your beams are aimed high enough to be in people’s mirrors or not. I’ve never been flashed yet, but I don’t drive as many miles as many of you here do.
