I try to do my off-roading when it's moderate to severe clear, with lots of sun, when it's more fun and I can see. Trust me, the views of the Colorado river from the Moab trails is much better in the daylight. My use for strong lights is when I've screwed up the plan for the day or there's an emergency. While I enjoy some challenging wheeling in the rocks, I won't do it if it's dark and I can't enjoy the views.
Coming down some muddy snowy tight switchbacks in the dark (unplanned) with my wife “helping me drive” from the passenger seat, motivated me to install the cowl lights as ditch lights. I am in the middle of the groups as far as wheeling experience so generally not a trail leader and have only used the bumper mounted lights a couple of times. Where we are those lights would get beat to shit by brush and tree branches on some trails and would end up looking like the back of my side mirrors or broken.

ARB Stubby has an absurdly large bumper hoop so no other mounting options that don’t leave the lights hanging off the front of the bumper begging to get broken

They look unbalanced. I'm not a fan of A pillar lights, but if I needed more light to the sides I would install them, but it would be Baja Design squadron wides. Less obtrusive, great light output.
Nice bumper BTW. I'm waiting to install mine in a couple of weeks when I've got time.

I just installed massive 9 inch lights on my Jeep and on the first day got 3 comments from random strangers on how big they are! Reason I picked them is that I do a lot of off-roading with my Jeep Club in AZ and I’m always upfront. I need strong lights to cut through the dust and to ensure that the Razers flying toward me at 50 mph can see it a mile away.

Question is, are these lights too big for the location? Installing them on the bumper and/or stinger not an option since they’re blocking the headlights and/or the
front camera. I can return them and downgrade to 7 inch lights but that means I’ll be reducing my nearly 40K lumens by 10K or so.

the Razers don't need to see you "a mile away", they only need to see you in time to get out of the way.
most of the time the problem is when they come around a corner or over a rise at speed, running faster than they can stop within the distance they can see.
no amount or size or color of lights can fix Stupid.

i can't imagine the glare you're going to get off the hood with that setup; that would interfere with *your* ability to see.
looks to me like you still have room to drill a couple of holes on the other edge of your bumper to mount something small and bright out there that would serve your purpose without interfering with your ability to see.

Holy crap!
The only time I see lights the size of Dolly's boobs is when I'm running the baja 1000.
