What's your experience with Track Bar relocation brackets?
Are they a good viable option for centering the axles on a lifted jeep? Or do they change the geometry in such a way that it may negatively affect the handling?
I put the cart before the horse and purchased the Teraflex units before asking the questions.

The purpose of relocation brackets are to restore the roll center geometry after you lifted your Jeep. Centering the axles is the "side effect". However, you can not fine tune where your axles sit using the brackets alone.

Rear bracket is pretty straightforward, if you lift your jeep by 2", a bracket that moves the trackbar mounting point up by 2" would get your axle pretty center.

The front, however, its a bit tricky. You can not change the trackbar mounting point too much without making adjustment on the draglink, or you would experience bump steer and shimmy.

I’d use one in the rear if you’re on a 2.5” or more lift. You can use the oem track bar with it for up to 2.5” lift after that you’ll want to use an adjustable t.b. with it to center the rear axle…. On the front you can use one with the oem t.b. or an adjustable t.b. that will down ti oem length for up to 2.5” lift, after that you’ll need an adjustable t.b. Personally I wouldn’t bother with the bracket in the front. If you do just make sure that the drag link and track bar are running parallel with each other to prevent bump steer…..

Jeep only has a 2" lift so my axle is not far from center as it is now. I'll go ahead and install the rear and take a look at the front. My fear is the relocation bracket will move the mounting point too far outside the plane of the draglink mounting.

If you’re only 2” lifted, It shouldn’t if you use the oem track bar….but I would recommend getting an adjustable track bar for the front because the oem is junk and it’s only a matter of time before it shits the bed…. It’s not that the rear track bar is any better but it doesn’t have to work as hard since there’s no steering…

Yeah, for the rear ideally you want to have both but if I can only have one, I would go with bracket. For the front, I would go with adjustable trackbar to center the axle.

I always wonder the reasoning @TeraFlex includes the front trackbar bracket in their lifts if the draglink is not addressed accordingly?

I run the teraflex front and rear for up to a 4' lift. So far no issues on the 6 or so wheeling trips I have done since March and it is also a DD. Once my OEM components go bad I will be switching to adjustable front and rear as well as heavy duty tie rod and drag link.

Been there done that about 20 years ago. Did it on other Jeeps.

Easy Job:

Bear in mind you are making a MAJOR change and your resale or trade is not going to happen unless you find another Jeeper that UNDERSTANDs what you have done and buys into it.

I put all my bars parallel to the axle/ground plane, Death wobble never showed up again after I did that and I drove it for another 80k miles.

NOTE the Track bar does not NEED to be centered with this setup.

The reason why I relocated the steering box is due to the pitman arm angle, which I changed and it also gave me a change you really weld down my Steering box assembly and straighten the angle. Bump Steer comes from a mis-angled Pitman Arm.

This is why my Jeep is engineered and fabbed by me and not buying "KITS" which are always a compromise, nor are they built to my standards.

This pic (above) still has my old curved Track bar, I changed in the first pic.

This is the redo of the Track Bar axle side mount.

You CANNOT relocate the front trackbar mounts without either a draglink flip or drop pitman arm period. You will experience bumpsteer.. The trackbar and draglink MUST always stay parallel to each other.

That is my concern.

Here is a couple pics with my teraflex setup. No issues at all since install as I said. I drive 17 miles each way to work on highway and a half dozen wheeling trips.
