It's our fault. (consumer) we like the do-dads and gadgets. Oh so and so brand has this or that. Come on Jeep get with the times and here we are today. If you think a jeep is complex what do you think a LC is a pinto.

Well , if 35 years and 300,000 miles don’t make me a ā€œJeep personā€ I doubt there are many out therešŸ˜. Stellantis (and Fiat) have milked the old cow dry, sent the prices through the roof while sacrificing build quality. My JL has had more niggling problems than my old TJ’s Ever had. I would buy a new TJ today. A new JL? Don’t think so. Dunno about an LC but I was impressed with my friends. Maybe if I drive my JL for another 5 years and have 40 years behind a Jeep wheel I’ll be a ā€œJeep personā€šŸ™„
Not a "Jeeper" here. I'm 62 and my current JL is first ever Jeep product for me. I held my nose to buy it in the first place as I ONLY wanted it for a toad behind my motorhome. It is without a doubt the lowest quality automobile I've ever owned. Besides stupid piddly crap like broken visor mounts??? Mine was also gifted with a glitch that makes wipers turn on, all dummy lights light up, tranny won't go above 3rd gear, power steering cuts out and more. Dealer & I have thrown thousands at that & never fixed it. However it hasn't acted up in almost a year so maybe it "cured" itself. Regardless I've fallen quite hard for my Wrangler. Never thought I'd go off road but I have & grin ear to ear. I don't miss all the luxo SUV's I've driven over the years at all. Maybe I'm more of a Jeeper than I thought as I take the bad with the good & still love my Jeep. But if the love has gone for you definitely turn the page & get what makes you smile.

Cars are getting more and more complex. The more parts there are, the more likely something will go bad. That applies to all cars.

Now, if its a race to the bottom for all, I'm sure some manufacturers are dropping way faster than the others.

If I need a vehicle to run reliably, dependable, and long lasting going from point A to point B, statistically, I have better odds opting for Toyota or Honda.
With that said, I love my JL and I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.
I am fortunate enough to not rely on it to be my daily driver. I have a higher tolerance for poor reliability and bad quality.
Maybe we've been lucky, but we've owned nearly a dozen Jeeps over the years from XJs, ZJs, WJs, TJs, JKs, JLs, and a JT. All were super reliable. Well over 200k miles on 2 XJs, a ZJ, and a WJ without more than a replacement starter or alternator. The only unreliable Jeep I've ever owned...an '86 XJ powered by a GM 2.8L v6. Not only was it an underpowered dog it was unreliable. I'll take any Jeep powertrain over that joint venture GM garbage. Our 2019 JLUR had 63k miles on it when stolen. Lifted, 38s, wheeled hard and roadtripped all across the country. Not a single issue. Our current 2022 xr on 39s has been more of the same for 36k miles. My JT mojave was on 37s by the 1,100 mile mark. Wheeled hard at freeway speeds in the desert and 24k trouble free miles to date. We wheel solo most of the time and there's not one other vehicle from any manufacturer I'd take out and flog like we do our Jeeps in locations facing 20+ mile walks should the vehicle fail.

Request the dealer let you take it home for the night and on a longer test drive.. We bought my wife a loaded out Subaru for her DD and after a month she hated it. I drive the Subaru now and she drives my Truck... I would never own a Wrangler to daily, They're for wheeling or for nice days with the top off.

All this talk about poor quality. I've noticed, based on posts here, that QC has dropped significantly since the inception of Stellantis.

That having been said, there are currently three Jeeps in our family. A 2020 Wrangler, a 2019 Grand Cherokee, and a 2022 Wagoneer. None of them has been back to the dealer for anything. The only issues have been batteries, as is common with most late model vehicles.

The wife dailies a JLUR on 39s, but it's probably easier to load a purse into a Subaru....

I load my purse in the Subaru just fine along with my rainbow flag wear.. For that reason we are in the market for a different vehicle. My wife loves dailying the F150 on 37's.

I think your story is actually more common than people care to admit. I have had 4 Wranglers over the years and never had significant issues...I'm not saying they don't happen but just saying that forums like this tend to amplify them and you would think 90% of Wranglers on the road are problematic.

I think the same is true regarding the price of Wranglers. If you read this forum the Wrangler is over-priced but every other comparable vehicle is priced fine. That is simply not true. All vehicles have increased dramatically over the last few years. If you compare comparably equipped Wranglers to Broncos, Forerunners, Tacos the Wrangler is not out of line. Then start looking at the Ineos or Lexus offroad builds and it is even more evident that Wrangler is not uniquely high priced.

And the Wrangler still allows a range of builds from the factory to allow for lower priced entry up to crazy 100k+ 392 builds. And of course after market options are unlimited. Not many of the Wrangler competitors offer that.

But to the OP...drive what you want. You don't owe anybody an apology or reason.

I kind of wish I would have bought a Bronco this time around..my 2024 is my 5th wrangler and I have had more down time with it than all the rest of my vehicles combined and I have been buying new vehicles since the 70's.

I love old CJs. The Buick engine was the Dauntless V6. The 4 cylinder was still a Willys design in those years.
Mine was the 1974 CJ5 Renegade. 304 V8, 3 speed manual, Detroit Locker in the rear, with Warn locking hubs up front. I lifted it with additional leaves in the springs, with 35" tires. There really wasn't any thing better off road, but it was a danger at high speeds on highway, I should have kept it.........

It’s been a ā€œthingā€ for a long time. The JK wasn’t exactly a peach and was actually built like junk, and nobody has actually fixed the 3.6’s issues in the last 15 years, long before Stellantis.

Take the JK’s crappy quality, and then add lots more electronics and an infotainment interface probably designed in India… Call it a JL.

If you want to buy a Toyota, then buy one. We don't need the story of why. You can just stop posting. I can assure you there quality isn't any better. Isn't almost every 2022-2024 Tundra non-hybrid getting a new engine? That just screams quality to me. They are boring outdated vehicles and just as big of a piece of crap as any other new car made..

Regardless, still no issues. Even my 2013 JK was trouble free, as were the 2 other JK s in our family. My 1988 Wrangler. though, was a total shit show.
