Has anyone tried one of the steering wheel trays for their Jeep?

I usually don't eat in my vehicles, but thought it might make a nice surface for working on a small laptop. Plus, it's small enough to just chuck under the seat when you're done. I've seen them for sale at Amazon and a few other places and other than fitment uncertainty between vehicles, the only con is they'll eventually leave indentations in the leather steering wheel.

Why do these exist? The only reason to eat in the Jeep is because you're still driving. If I'm going to park and eat why am I mounting a table to the steering wheel? Agoraphobic so you can't go inside? Even when we have the dogs and can't go in but are ready for a break and are going to stop and eat the tailgate table or even the front fender works great. And if we are still driving the bag of food sits right on top of the parking brake handle just fine.

Ok so i just made 2 recent mods to my 2021 JLU. After 4 years running 255s even after my 1.5 in leveling lift upgrade, (see photos) i have finally just installed my Toyo 285 70 17s and man so far really happy w these tires. Cost was $1335 total.. BUT i think i am much more excited about my second upgrade which cost $22 bucks. The
adjustable food tray. No longer does my McDonalds $5 special go in the cup holders and fries go everywhere. Almost want to take a trip just to eat fast food in the Jeep.

Please post a video demonstrating the cake pan loaded with food and driving off road or maybe just over some speed bumps.

Honestly no idea. Like I said, I usually don't eat in vehicles unless on the move, and probably haven't done that in decades, but was just looking for a temporary laptop solution (not sure if I really even need such a scenario, but thought it might come in handy sometime).

And don't believe I'm agoraphobic myself, but I personally don't enjoy hanging out in restaurants and public places because most humans are generally disgusting and insanely annoying to be around

If youre on a road trip and you pull into a drive through , it is mainly for the drivers convinience. Somewhere other than the cup holder or trying to dig it out of a bag while driving. to put your fries, nuggets, honey mustard sauce or whatever. Other than a long road trip its worthless. Just got tired of sticking the food in the cup holder while im driving. But obviously not everyone will think its of any value at all..i thought Jeepers would relate(and laugh) because the Wrangler is so storage space challenged as we are always looking for mods to make the Jeep work for us..

If youre on a road trip and you pull into a drive through , it is mainly for the drivers convinience. Somewhere other than the cup holder or trying to dig it out of a bag while driving. to put your fries, nuggets, honey mustard sauce or whatever. Other than a long road trip its worthless. Just got tired of sticking the food in the cup holder while im driving. I get where you're coming from.

My perspective is a little different. For me, I see benefts to stopping and getting out of the Jeep when I grab a bite to eat. It adds time to the trip but I don't feel so wiped out at the end of the day if I stop for breaks along the way.

I also figured out that the choice of food you eat while driving makes a big difference. Chicken nuggets are good finger food and easy to eat while driving. But adding a thing of dipping sauce complicates it too much. Same with fries. Fine until you add ketchup to dip them in.

Having a tray right there makes messy, inconvenient food easier to deal with. But, at least for me, there are better solutions to eating while on a road trip.

If the tray works for you, more power to ya. Enjoy it.

I NEED this when sitting on top of the engine working on it to put the screws, nuts & bolts so they don't go rolling away down to the abyss

You need one of these… a forearm strap with magnets. My kids bought it for me years ago. (I don’t know where they got it.)

The joke was a few days ago i told my wife.."ive got a great idea". Im going to design a food tray that fits into the cup holders for trips. Ill be rich w that sort of a mod and then i go on Amazon and i am a day late and a dollar short just like my heated ice cream scoop idea
