Huh ...

Anyway, yes, "as tire wears you should spot check again and reprogram accordingly." A new tire will require you to select a bigger diameter tire when programming. A very worn tire a smaller diameter tire when programming. This is not exact science but you need to keep this in mind and at least spot check occasionally. Of course, you don't have to but the more your speedo accuracy is off, the more apt you are to get a speeding ticket.
I think I've read one of your posts that lists all the changes you've made...I think, but can't find it. Would you repost that or direct me to it?
I've got mine in and installed and happy with it, but I'd be interested in your changes.
thanks!

Can a dealership perform the the software flash required for the cruise control recall with the the tazer bypass module still in place, or should I unmarry and remove it all?

The consensus is to unmarry and avoid any potential hassle. That's what I did. If you have a particularly good relationship with your dealer, you might get by, but I'd be VERY confident in that relationship, first. I've got a great relationship with mine, but still took the cautious route. I can't help but wonder if these things are like a Terminator and can send info straight to Skynet, bypassing the dealer.

@mwilk012
No, it is absolutely not possible!

IF the "Gateway Module" is not plugged in (cause you have the Tazer SWG Module connected to the 2 cables above the OBDll port) the necessary communication between JL and the service dept/FAC computer cannot take place.

You must unmarry the TazerJL, and then remove the TazerJL and the SWG bypass module. Be sure to plug the two wires that were plugged into the TazerJL bypass module back into the Gateway Module.

Note: Never take your JL to the service dept. with any programmer married to it and the programmer hardware attached!

Well, that's unfortunate. I don't look forward to dealing with all of that, and having to drive there with bulb out warnings, low tire pressure warning, and an inaccurate speedometer. Plus, these clips are a bear to get off, I feel like I got lucky the first time and won't again.

Well, this 69yo with a bad back and knees and iffy close vision finds it a little bother but no big deal. It gets easier each time I do it!

DO remove the kick panel and then access the Gateway Module connection point. I find that this is the easiest versus trying to climb under there so to speak.

I'll have to give that a shot next time. Thanks. I called the dealership and they couldn't schedule me in for the repair before the end of next week, which is unfortunate given that I'm going on a 2 week road trip starting Monday. Sure would be nice to have cruise control.

@mwilk012

Way way way easier with the kick panel off. Also, I found that bringing a small electric lamp into the footwell that lights the area up like a baseball stadium lighted at night, is a real plus also.

If you don't have a plastic pry tool, a small kit with them, can be had at Harbor Freight for $5.00+-. I only use the pry tool for the top two clips and then work my fingers down and pulling the panel toward me. The panel goes back on easily/in seconds.

Also, amazon.com sells plastic pry tools for cheap.

@Jlrut
In case you are interested in yet another TazerJL's list, this is what I use constantly with my 2dr. JL Rubi:

Disable ESS
Enable Backup camera going forward with no time limit restriction
Disable Seatbelt ding
Disable Nav input restrictions when driving.
Enable Fogs on with High beams
Change DRL Location ..to just Halo
Light Show -- I already used it at one major accident scene
Enable One-touch lane change
Enable DRL Dropout function
Enable/Disable TPMS system --- I use this when I air down at the beach in Florida
I also use the reboot computer function when I want to reboot my Uconnect Radio
Disable TravelLink/XM traffic&weather - - Have recently enabled as you lose not just WeatherAlerts

State Inspections and your TazerJL ...

To my fellow TazerJL owner's...

Remember, when you go for your State vehicle inspection, you must remove your TazerJL programmer and the TazerJL companion SWG bypass module, IF your state requires the inspection station Inspector to plug his computer into your OBDll port and access your JL's onboard computer's.

New York is one such state. I believe Massachusetts is another.. there are many other states also.

I was checking out the Tazer for the JLU and saw that a recent update listed showed "aux videos" on the same line as fixed inMotionNav. I know other Jeeps/Chrysterls with Uconnect have Uconnect Theater - anyone know if this is in reference of playing video via usb through the main screen or, if that's not what this is referencing, has anyone found a way to play video via the touchscreen? Just curious if it's possible.

I did the update and installed my Tazer this weekend. So far so good, I set my drl, disabled my seatbelt chime, enabled nav and kept my dog light active with high beams. Is there any way to enable the lockers in 4 high?

$295 is a lot of money, but not having to go to the dealership and pay them $100+ is worth it. I can do what I need with my Jeep in my driveway now. You're paying for convenience.

I have the Tazer JL and the Superchips FlashCal, and if I had neither and was buying one of them today, I'd go with the Tazer JL. That may change in coming weeks or months, but as of today the Tazer is still a smoother, faster, product that does more and works better at what it claims it can do.

If you have, do you recommend?

https://zautomotive.com/product/tazer-jl/

It's not exactly cheap ;) So I'm curious to hear about it from anyone that has experience with it before I order....

Thanks!!
I have and absolutely love it. The TPMS/Tire size reprogram are what I mainly purchased it for, but now I use it for so much more. The always on rear camera is great for when you have your doors off. The field of view is so wide that it makes small mirrors almost useless, you can see the cars next to you before they are out of the field of view on the camera. The Auto stop disable is nice, as well as the 2wd sway bar disconnect(under 30mph only sadly.)
I recently purchased the Aux cable to add a front camera, but I haven't decided on what camera to use to install it.
