Yup, double tap mute, turns it on or off.

Double tap is mentioned in the ZAutomotive, TazerJL instructions. Only works for the 8.4 radio.

"Force Backup camera:
Double tap the “mute” button to switch to backup camera (8.4 screen only_."
For the record, I don't have the 8.4" screen so this works on the other ones too.

@WXman

Good to hear! Thanks for your input!

Joe, has and tests with a unit with the 8.4" screen. He @joe@zauto may not even be aware of this. TazerJL instructions don't reflect that he knows or knew when he authored the TazerJL instructions.

I'm still waiting for the next Tazer update.

I am also getting ready to order the front camera adapter. I'm going to try and mount a camera underneath the Jeep, probably on top of a crossmember, so that it looks down and forward. I want to be able to see clearly enough so that I can clear rocks around the pumpkin and place front tires in exactly the right spot on technical trails. I ordered a high resolution camera that should work well (hopefully) with the exceptionally clear picture on the Uconnect. If this works, it will be a fantastic off-roading tool. I just don't see much use in a front camera if I can't see tire placement.

Ok, I've got the camera and the adapter from Tazer. Now I just have to find the time to get in there and attach it, then find a mounting spot for the camera. I've also got to figure out the cleanest and best way to run the camera cable into the cabin of the Jeep. Any ideas about getting through the firewall or floor? (I don't want to use the drain holes, unless desperate.) Man, I hope this works the way I envision it! If so, this will be one of the best off-road mods I've ever made. To be able to spot for yourself with precise wheel/diff placement would be a HUGE advantage!

Ouray is one of our "go to" places. Anyone who likes to run blackbear and quite a few other passes in the area are familiar with tight switchbacks. This cargo camera would be a really great addition for those type trails. Love this TAZER unit. Now you all have sold me on the camera addition.....dang. Chu Ching!

Any current and updated codes for the Tazer this month? I'm ready to order and the codes I have found are all expired.

Your TazerJL will arrive in 2-3 business days. While waiting for it go to ZAutomotive's website and download the "ZAutomotive Programming Utility" and install it on your home computer. Also, you will want to download the current "Latest Update" which is 11.0.3. https://zautomotive.com/tazer-jl-updates/

The TazerJL you will be receiving may not have the current 11.0.3 firmware installed on it. You need to update the TazerJL to the latest update, which as of today, is 11.0.3 before you marry your TazerJl to your JL.

Note: Your TazerJL comes with the companion module, the necessary USB cable that attaches from the computer to the TazerJL so you can update firmware. Also comes with a circular ZAutomotive sticker. 8-)

You might want to order a 12" OBDll extension cable from amazon.com. I recommend this one. Be sure you look to the left of the amazon.com ad /page and order from "Mobile Computing Solutions" and not the default amazon vendor who is Ray Bulwer Violet.

Installed the Tazer today and this thing is a neat gadget... dropped TPMS down, shut off ESS, and adjusted the tire size... right now it works as advertised and does way more than I need it to.

fyi, the one I received was already updated to the latest firmware... thanks for the assist!

Good to hear! For sure the TazerJL is a nice addition to the JL. Hey... be sure to read over the instructions so you are aware of just what all the TazerJL can do for you and your JL.

As for it coming with the current firmware. Good to hear. No harm checking to be sure it was though.........
