Let me add that I spend a lot of time working out of the back of my Jeep while in camp. I cook back there, among other things. I use my table a lot and so I like a nice table. The ones with holes in them don’t make much sense to me.

You don’t usually have holes in your kitchen counter or desk, so why have them in your tailgate table? If it’s only for casual use, then maybe this doesn’t matter. There are certainly some cheap options out there! But I’m kind of a “buy once, cry once” kind of guy.

The Trailgater is a work of freakin’ art (especially in hammertone), but the price has gone waaaay up since I bought it. Hard to recommend at current prices but boy is it nice. Oh, and zero rattles.

I use my trailgator all the time. It's great for taco crawls.

I also use it sometimes as a work station if I have to work out of my Jeep for a few hours. At some point I was going to add a lightbar to the table but never quite got around to it.

Wait. Taco crawls? Wtf, is that what I missed on the trail run I couldn’t go on!? ?

Same here, the two large drink holes in each corner are not only useless but an inconvenience to me. My main concern however; If I install one it's going to rattle I know it is. I'm Charlie Brown when it comes to stuff rattling on the trail and it drives me nuts. I may as well pay a kid to sit in the back of my jeep with a BB in a beer can. :headbang:

A Jeep rattle is always a great conversation starter when I have passengers:

friend: "What's that noise?"
me: "It's the Jeep."
friend: "Right, but what in the Jeep?"
me: "The Jeep."

I would prefer a table without the drink cut outs. There's a few out there that don't have them.

No clue about that brand, but our Rough Country is dead silent.
I can second this. I typically advise against buying anything Rough Country but their hood mounted light bar and tailgate table have both been great for me. Tailgate table has no rattle or noise at all, even when going over violent roads.

I have this one too... did not realize it's $500 now! I think I paid $300 which at the time I thought was too much, but it is built very well with very good dampening when closed.

The main reason some tables have slots or holes in them is to preserve the tailgate vent functionality. e.g. burping air out when you close a door, or allowing airflow when the climate control fan is on.

"No hole" tables end up blocking that vent.

That may or may not be important to you, but it's worth knowing.
