So I just finished my swayloc, I was running the autolynx and I realized I a little more control when disconnected. I wanted a rockjock antirock but I was worried about the highway driving.
The install:
To be honest, it’s easy but kind of a pain too. Installing the brackets first, and globs of grease made it easy to mount it while in the jeep. ORO provided a install tool, a stud and piece of tubing to install the arms, I used it at first to press it on, but about half way through my dad and I hammered it the rest of the way.
Small note, my tire rubs ever so slightly in reverse and full lock on the air piston, Im not sure if offroad and flexed i’ll rub on it, but from testing it with a jack, it doesn’t seem like it. Just have to slide it around to where it’s sorta perfect on either end. Note, im running 17x8.5 4.75in BS 0 offset wheels. On sport axles -12 offset would be better.
For the air set up, I didn’t want to make the manifold
too inaccessible, so I found a hole to mount it to, and I may have to go back in and rearrange the steel lines so it’s a little more optimal.
Sorta mounted the solenoid on my grimm arb mount, bottom fitting is hard to reach this way but not impossible.
Driving:
It corners very tightly now compared to the stock sway bar, and feels more responsive on turn in, that was expected. But using the soft rate, as someone who was worried how it would feel, it feels great driving around. No more head bobbing or tossing the body around. It just soaks everything now. I haven’t taken it on the highway yet, but up to 60mph, the body roll wasn’t too bad, and I think it’ll be fine. Into a corner, it kinda settles into the roll and hits a point and stops rolling.
So far i also have a clunk, I don’t think I used enough grease during install, I do need to pump more grease which I’ll be do tomorrow and report back.
