I've asked Superchips on their site, I've asked Quadratec on their site, and apparently no one knows their product. My question is, does the MODULE need to be unplugged (and stock module plugged back up) prior to having service performed on the Jeep? Both answers were,"the Flashcal is removed after programming". It's not a JK, it's a JL. The MODULE is what I was asking about.

Also the Flashcal F5 JL manual says not to store the Flashcal in hot or freezing temps. This means by default that it is not supposed to be kept in the Jeep. Since I cannot predict all service needs how can I set the jeep to "stock" prior to service if I'm away from home when service is needed?

So I don't know if the MODULE needs to be removed for service. I don't know what happens if a dealer reflash is done with the module in place. I don't know if the Flashcal will survive in the console until needed. I cannot set DRL to on. I cannot set fog lights to not drop off with high beams since this option is not in he FLashcal list.

I doubt it will be granted but I've asked Quadratec if a return / refund is possible. Assuming a refund is not possible can the Flashcal F5 JL be set back to "stock" and sold to another person to register and use in their Jeep? This is a great tool for people changing tires, gearing, TPMS settings and such but for just a tire size change I'd rather pay the dealer 275 and be done with it.
The flashcal is plugged in - run your programs - they are stored to the Jeep - unplug and drive. When you want to go in for service plug it back in and return to original factory settings.

If you go on a road trip take it with you Incase you need service. I have always kept mine in the center console and never had any problems.

In past versions so probably the same with this one you can return to factory settings and unmarry the programmer from your VIN. Once it is unmarried it can be used on another Jeep.

There will be other add on features with the flashcal - hopefully soon it will be tied to tuning features of the engine.

Thanks for the info. I'm learning a lot today.

I've got mine! Was great to adjust speedo and turn off the TPMS Nag light as I don't have them on the new wheels.
That's literally all I needed mine for, hence why I didn't fork out the extra $100 for the Tazer. The Tazer is by no means a bad product, but the only other adjustment I'd possibly be making in the future is the gear ratio. My F5 never failed me when I had my JK and as nice and simple as AEV's ProCal unit is, my fingers aren't small enough to not flick two or three of the dip switches at once.

I did notice the menu had an Off-Road Pages ON/OFF option that obviously doesn't work at the moment, but I am curious what the point of that would be. Assuming Jeep actually gets that working in the coming months as they claim, I can't imagine why you'd want to turn that off.

I never once mentioned any other brand of programmer. This is a SuperChips thread, I respect that and would never talk another programmer in this thread.

I saw a fellow JL owner with programmer questions so, I provided some generic answers.

As for Auto Park.... No programmer available for the JL can presently, disable Auto Park.
Only one company offering a JL programmer claims it can, but cannot..
.
Superchips has confirmed the flashcal does disable auto park .

Regardless of tuner, if one's Jeep was out of warranty (just to remove that from the discussion) then one could change their settings, remove the tuner module and re-plug in the original Jeep module. If dealer service was needed this would allow the dealer to read the ECU and reflash / reprogram as needed, right? In other words, "return to stock" and "unmarry" are just to "hide" the fact that changes were made?

Will there ever be an option to adjust the TPMS warning threshold? Or is on/off the only option?

You can adjust the threshold with the flascal - I have mine set at 25 as I run lower pressure for daily driving

We're putting together a video detailing the process of swapping out the gateway module on the 18 JL, if anyone has any questions about the changes for the JL, feel free to ask!
I had a hard time with this with my fat hands. Had to take to a shop to reach the cables (20.00) charge
I had to take it back to stock 2 times $40.00 more. Could you provide a pigtail to plug in so we can move it for us fat hand guys. I’m sure we would be happy to pay for it

@Bill Tower

No such "pigtail' so forget that idea..

Are you removing the kick panel below the steering column so you can gain easier access to the 2 connectors on the cables going into the gateway module?

I have fat hands and 77 years old, getting under is not possible. I don’t understand why cable sets can’t be made, if you know the connectors both male and female all you need is wire each connection and solder.
