@Tommywear

My 2018 JL is over 3 yrs. old and has well over 50,000 miles on it.

From earlier on, I have lets say..... used my visors in fear.... used very cautiously, as I knew the visor bracket was prone/known to break. I tell passengers "go easy on the visor, all I need is that friggin thing to break".

I was always worried that the visor would break when I was on one of my cross country trips, etc...

Sure, I know.... I could fairly easy fix a broken visor bracket.... I even carry two split collars to do the fix with in my JL.. I have the tools to do, and know how to fix..

Yes, I myself, installed these visor clips as a purely preventative measure...

In closing for the few $ this visor clip cost me, the piece of mind knowing that the visors will not easily break is little $ to pay.... the visor clips give me piece of mind so to speak..

YES, I think guys/gals should install this Manufactured in the USA, visor clip offering.... especially if their JL is no longer covered under the factory warranty...

.
Thanks for the write up! Sounds like money well spent to prevent one of the known weaknesses with the visors. I'll order up and install a set myself, just for peace of mind.

If any of us speaks with the vendor, it might not hurt to ask about the prospect of a 2 screw enhanced version to secure it on both sides of the visor hangar. (I will likely call prior to placing an order).

Thanks again Rhinebeck01

After I did the install today, I messaged the manufacturer.... Told him well done... nice offering...

Also told him that I did an Amazon review of this product .... even though I did not buy his offering through Amazon... I wanted to review on Amazon so there would be an early review before buyers made the wrong decision and purchased the knock off of this product... I do think/know this product does a JL/JT owner right so to speak.

Anyway, I did mention to him that there was interest in a 2 screw version... His reply to me.. gave me the impression, that he may just come up with one... however it would be a pricier offering..

As for me.... the offering he has now... the one I just purchased is just fine... does the deed..

I'm curious, did you pay full price for the set that you have?

@JayJay

To be honest.... when I first caught wind of this offering, I immediately reached out to/messaged the manufacturer.... and asked that he send me the offering for free..... to try... to evaluate..

I told him I,f... if it was a decent offering... a quality product.... that if it did the deed.... ....that I wanted to have it for my JL and also, I wanted to tell other JL owner's here, as I knew there was a real need for such an offering..

I told him my reporting on the offering... if it was in fact a decent offering... would also fuel his sales...

Anyway, the manufacturer declined and would not give me the offering for free... I ended up just purchasing the offering...

Lol! I feel seen!

This is exactly what I envisioned. Not sure anything can be overkill…It’s a Jeep thing I guess!

I do think this will guarantee that the visors won’t drop, droop, or disconnect. ?

Do you have a link to the Amazon offering by this manufacturer? I want to be sure I buy his and not the knock-offs, and haven't used eBay in well over 10 years. Thanks in advance.

ETA: Nevermind, found it.

I just ordered these for my wife's JLU for Christmas. She hasn't had any problem yet with the sun visor, so this is just preventative maintenance. I wish the two hole version that I ordered was available on Amazon, like the single hole is, but I ordered it on eBay without any problem. I just never use eBay anymore...well, except for this.

@RoadiJeff

A saying "A stitch in time saves nine", comes to mind in regard to buying and install this offering..

Had you purchased the single screw offering that would have given you the protection you want..
The one screw offering really reinforces the visor bracket... for sure the 2 screw offering reinforces it even more but probably the "more" is not at all necessary.

As for eBAY.... I used to buy lots there but lean more toward Amazon purchasing, as I know I am more insulated.... more protected, purchasing through Amazon..

Price difference of the other option?

$10 difference between the two.

IF, I were to buy now, since the arrival of this 2 screw offering.... I would probably just spend the additional $10 and go with the 2 screw offering..

When someone installs the 2 screw offering, do report here in regard to the clearance between the clip/ and the screw and the visor edge itself, in regard to this offering... Looks real tight and may rub/touch.... I have not seen in person but picture I saw did raise my concern. Could just be pic angle ....

Look close at this pic:

I installed my single hole versions. I seriously doubt this will help stop the breakage as they do not support the "knuckle" that well. They will stop the visor from falling down once it breaks.
