How old is your top lift? My support rails have threaded support rail bumpers that I extend to support the front of the roof. Did you modify yours?
Sorry about the late response Dave, I didn’t get the usual alert. I’m guessing maybe they modified? Those support rails are square and they slide into a slightly larger square on the actual lift (the light green). They then have a locking pin. They came with the lift bought in February 2017.

Sorry about the confusion. I was actually talking about the end of the rails. I have the same rails, but at the end of mine it has threaded bumpers. The ends of your's seemed to be different.

I like this it could also work if you don't have a garage. We don't have a garage and store my hardtop on stacked pallets in the back yard but it's not as high as this.
It sits almost perfectly level with the Jeep when wheeled right up to the spare. It’s a great tool and very stable.

I see what you mean Dave, I guess they changed it because mine had that whole "bend around" thing happening so the roof couldn't slide forward or tip down. From your picture I can't figure out how you'd even use those threaded bumpers. I've called them a couple of times with questions (I have the door cart too) and they are very nice and helpful. I think its Alien Technologies. Have a great day Dave.

After the roof is on the Top Lift, I slide the first part of the support in past the pin point (Have to separate the support pieces). This allows me to get the piece with the bumper (Lowered of course) to slide into the first part. I then extend the whole support outward until the pin on the lift (Green part) locks. Then I extend the bumpers up by unscrewing them until they support the front part of the roof. Makes it very stable.

I bought the cart from Quadratech and it works great. When I take the doors off I put them on the dolly; the dolly then slides under the hard top and are covered. All nice and neat and takes up little room.

Came up with this one based off of a friends idea for his 2 door hard top. Have about 10 dollars worth of bike storage hooks and cinch style straps that I had laying around already into it.

Ok Zak now the next idea has to be to wash that fine looking machine. Just kidding buddy.
Nice job with the hooks. 2 things that may be helpful.
1) you can put your freedom panels in the bag and store them right on the hard top for the summer.
2) You don’t want to bang into the top while backing in with the soft top, try pulling underneath it. The first contact would be your windshield which makes it real easy to judge the distance.

It’s a Jeep so that’s it’s usual color not long after it gets washed haha. I like the freedom panel idea, hadn’t thought that far yet, thanks! No soft top here, living in Minnesota the whole top only comes off a few times a summer when we have longer stretches of good weather, so I will park under it how you see in the picture.

Scaffold works very well in the garage and Bride can park under it with zero issues. Wheels around smooth and top sits solid with minimal rocking unsecured.

I like this idea! a couple of questions; how do you lift it off of the Jeep and onto the scaffolding shelf, and are the wheels beefy enough to push this across a lawn? I store mine on a shelf behind my shed, but its a pain to carry it there.

This is where I store mine durning the summer but it's a challenge. It takes two of us to lift the top off the Jeep and carry it across the lawn and behind my shed. Any thoughts on a solution where I can wheel the hardtop across the lawn behind the shed?

I really like this idea!

I'm in a pickle myself this year for storing the hardtops. We kept my wife's in the garage stored vertically on a cart for the last five years, but my son's project car is in the garage now AND he bought a JLUR last October. He also wants the hard top off for the summer and plans to install a soft top, so now I have to try and store TWO hard tops.

In your situation, one thing you could do to make it easier to get across the lawn would be to build a cart with pneumatic casters so they can roll through the lawn and over any small obstacles.

That's a great idea! If I build the cart with the pneumatic casters then I'll take down that shelf I built and simply roll the top behind my shed.
