Does the stereo upgrade really make for a quieter ride? I'm hesitant to pop for the upgrade stereo cause my tin ear won't enjoy it, but I would go for it if the special windshield glass and the active noise cancellation really work. Anyone know the answer?

It's totally subjective, but yes, it's worth it.

So worth the extra money for the deep sound and features it comes with!!!!
I've always upgraded the sound systems that the factory offers whenever I buy a new vehicle. This Alpine upgraded system is among, if not, the best upgraded system I've ordered from factory. Plus, I like the big screen.

Completely agree! The Alpine stereo is fantastic! I thought it was great in the JK, and I think it's even better in the JL. This is an absolute "must have" for me. I would not buy a JK or JL without it!

I probably would've gotten the tech package if it was offered on the sport s....having said that, I have been extremely content with the stock system.

Just drove 500 miles home with my loaded JLUR yesterday. IMO it’s absolutely worth it

Just for clarity while the Infotainment package is not available for the Sport S the Alpine System is.

True - my bad. The infotainment package is definitely great bang for your buck though and would've been the only way I would've considered paying for the alpine system. But I was in dire need of an upgrade and found a jl on the lot so went with it.

I agree that the Sahara and Rubicon models definitely get their money’s worth with the infotainment group. But the Sport S Alpine upgrade is $1295 for 9 speakers and an amp. Could you get a better upgrade from an auto audio specialty store for that cost?

Worth noting the downside for 2-door JLs: as I recall, the upgraded stereo costs you your storage compartment in the back, for the subwoofer. A bit of a bummer.
