  1. Is This a Good Deal?

Hello, Looking for some advice... I'm looking to buy a new 2024 Unlimited Sport S. The MSRP is $49,735. The dealer's asking price is $46,945 out-the-door. This includes the $499 doc fee. The price above does NOT include taxes, since we pay taxes at the DMV when we title our vehicles here in...
  2. 2018 Pricing Q. . .been sitting on the lot a long time!

I would definitely NOT pay anymore than $40k (before taxes, fees, etc.). In fact, at this point, I'd say somewhere around $39k. Since it's a late model (2018), there's enough data out there to know what it's truly worth. You should go to Edmunds (edmunds.com/appraisal/), and run the numbers for...
  3. What sort of deal should I expect on a 2018 at this point?

What's the MSRP? You'll want to be at least 20% below MSRP for a 2018.
  4. Paying cash

Yep, as mentioned above, dealers make money if you finance through them. Dealers get what's known as a "reserve" from the bank. The bank will only give the dealer the "reserve" if the car buyer maintains the loan for at least 3 months. However, it's important to note that in most cases, there's...
  5. 2018 JL price deal

I was able to get a new 2018 Sahara with an MSRP of $48,220 for $39k, plus a $199 doc fee. In Missouri, we pay taxes at the DMV when we title our vehicles.
  6. Do only suckers buy off of the lot?

Informed buyers (for example, people reading this forum) would never, ever do that deal, however, you'd be amazed how many uninformed buyers out there that would actually be stupid enough to do that deal. Given the power of the Internet, and dissemination of information, I would say that their...
  7. Price Checking - Worth a Lower Offer?

Agreed. 21% off of MSRP is a very solid deal! I would take that and run.
  8. Help! 2018 Sahara!

Couldn’t have said it better myself! You hit the nail on the head :-) If you really want it, maybe come up $1k. Meet them in the middle.
  9. Help! 2018 Sahara!

20% off of MSRP is your target for a new 2018. So, your offer should be $36k, including doc fee, and not a penny more.
  10. $1,000 rebate on 2018’s

Haven't gotten any lately. I usually get them pretty quickly, upon requesting a brochure. Hoping to get one soon!
  11. 2018 JL price deal

You want to be at 20% off of MSRP for any remaining 2018, since remaining 2018's have hit the 2-year depreciation cycle.
  12. Rubicon DEAL...Buy or Lease ????

Completely agree! For some vehicles, leasing makes sense, but definitely NOT for Wranglers. They hold their value too well to lease them. As your math correctly shows above, you'd be far better off (in the long run) to buy the Wrangler.
  13. 2018 JL price deal

Agreed. 20%+ off of MSRP is the target price for any remaining 2018's, especially since the 2020's are right around the corner, which means all remaining 2018's will have hit 2 depreciation cycles.
  14. Anyone considering trading their JL for a JT Gladiator?

Was thinking about it. I showed my wife, and she said, "Those are so ugly." Lol.
  15. How much are saving on a MOAB? 6% under invoice?

    Since it's a 2018, I'd say somewhere around $45k. I definitely wouldn't go any higher than $46k.
  16. Jeep Dealers Are Offering Up To $9,500 Off New Wranglers

I looked up a 2018 2 door Rubicon. I think the 2 doors are suffering more, in terms of resale.
  17. Jeep Dealers Are Offering Up To $9,500 Off New Wranglers

Completely agree! I was in negotiation with a dealer for a brand new fully loaded 2018 2-door Rubicon. I sat there with my laptop and ran the resale numbers via Kelly Blue Book right there in front of the salesman. I selected Private Party Resale, with only 29 miles, all the options, etc., in...
  18. How much cheaper should leftover 18 JL models on the dealer lot be worth now?

Let us know what they say... I think 20% off MSRP would be pretty solid for a 2018.
  19. 2018 New Sahara Pricing Expectations

Sounds like some folks are getting nearly 20% off of MSRP on remaining 2018's. I've tried to get a similar deal in my area (St. Louis), but no such luck. Best that I've seen around me is around 15% off, which is not good enough for me, given that 2018's have already hit a full year of...
  20. 2018 Two Door Rubicon Depreciation

Yep, agreed, well said! Since 2007, I've owned 9 Wranglers (8 JK's and 1 JL, mainly Rubicons and a few Saharas). Over the years, I've always done really well on resale by buying at or below Employee Pricing (between 5%-7% below invoice), and NEVER trading in. I always sell Private Party, since...
