yes, it is but on a 7 inch screen.
The Electronic Infotainment System Group is only available on the Sahara and Rubicon. The Electronic Infotainment System Group includes the 8.4” Touch Screen and Alpine Premium Audio System. ($1495 total)

The Sport S offers the Technology Group which includes the 7” Touch Screen. The Alpine Premium Audio System is separate. ($2290 total)

Does the stereo upgrade really make for a quieter ride? I'm hesitant to pop for the upgrade stereo cause my tin ear won't enjoy it, but I would go for it if the special windshield glass and the active noise cancellation really work. Anyone know the answer?
I can say this I have it and also have the factory headliner. I know this I can not complain about my JLU Rubicon being noisy at all. How much I can attribute to the infotainment / alpine package or even the headliner I don't know I never drove another Wrangler. Only hear a little muffled wind noise from the corners of the windows at around 50 mph plus and almost dead silence when driving 30 through town you crack the window though you know it LOL noise!. I don't hear any tire road noise at all. As for the Stereo its ok not near as good sounding as the setup I put in my Tundra for around a 1,000 a PIoneer head unit. Alpine amp with 4 Polk 5.5 speakers no subwoofer. But if you have a tin ear you won't mind it. The XM radio though sucks worse then any vehicle I ever had it in I mean always cut out with hills and big trees but my JLU much more often. But XM sucks anyways too compressed sounding once the trial expires good riddance i listen mostly Pandora far superior.

Worth noting the downside for 2-door JLs: as I recall, the upgraded stereo costs you your storage compartment in the back, for the subwoofer. A bit of a bummer.
yup, definitely tie bummer but not willing to give up the stereo upgrade!

Definitely worth the money. The stereo system is amazing. It is better than any other vehicle that I have.

I've been out of the country for 10 days and got back late last night. I just went for a drive 50% to listen to some music on this amazing sound system, and 50% to drive the Jeep because I missed it. I just love it.

The sound is amazing. How can a factory system sound so good? It will blow you away. My kids love to hear Star Wars music. One piece nearly brought tears to my eyes. I am able to hear parts of music that I never heard before. You will not regret it if you get it. If you don’t, you just will not know what you are missing.

It's worth it. I've had many nice cars and this is the best sound system I've ever had from the factory.

+1 to all the accolades. It is a truly amazing system, and the uconnect is sooo much better than the old. No brainer if you have the money.

Totally worth it... and traditionally people won’t steal as they go straight for aftermarket equipment due to universal fit..

Great point! I never would’ve thought of this benefit.

Wow...you guys are making this Alpine system sound like it's the best thing on earth? I cranked up the music on the 2 Rubicon JL test drives and it sounded OK. However, it's not as good as the Bose or Burmeister I have in my other 2 cars...but now you guys have me wondering if I may have missed something! Can't wait to crank it up in my Rubicon scheduled to arrive this weekend :)
