I have a '23 and use Android Auto, so either one can be responsible for this: but I can easily pause spotify or audible using the mute button under the volume wheel. Perhaps CarPlay decided to keep that mapped to mute instead of reassigning it to pause.

It seems that the Wrangler's 12" dashboard tablet, new for the 2024 model year, has affected analog switch functioning elsewhere. Perhaps the affected owners will read the relevant portion of the Owner's Manual, and/or any separate hardcopy guides provided with the Manual, to get the new lay of the land here.

I just had my local computer guy load my cd’s onto a thumb drive. I prefer to mostly drive in beautiful silence or talk radio also. The thumb drive is great. I’m slow to accept tech. Actually hate it. But the thumb drive lets me select artist song, track and song of choice. My music not the radio. Still wish they had a cd in the radio But you miss a lot of life if you don’t observe and enjoy the silence

I hope to God I never get old enough to want to listen to talk radio. So far I have over 250 books finished on Audible. Between that and music I'm good.

Take the radio out of the dash there's a wireless modem inside with three wires connected to it disconnect those three wires undo the screw take the modem throw it in the trash and you'll never see that again.

Radio reinstall is reverse of removal.

Yeah the radio comes out in 5 minutes, no fear its okay to pull that cover off. Get a plastic pry, I just pull on a corner.

And people wonder why I am so against my car stereo being connected to the internet. This is just one of the many issues.

But how else can we access our play lists now a days then? No radio signal out in the boonies, Jeep's stock cd player in my 2005 Liberty craped out and quit working years ago... So I've been building my Amazon play list for Android play for my next Jeep purchase. The issues I am hearing about are causing me to rethink my plans. I love Jeep, but do not want to have my only set of wheels in the shop all the time.
