Steering wheel wobble?

Does anybody have these death wobble issues that have change the track bar and replaced the upper and lower control arms. I’ve replaced the track bar but I’m willing to replace the upper and lower control arms if it will fix the problems.

In one of your other posts you mentioned ordering a new steering stabilizer. Did you install it yet? And was the original one of the defective date codes? Curious to know if it had any effect.

Yes, I put a rough country steering stabilizer and it helped a little. I also tried the rough country adjustable lower control arms and moved my caster out to 5.8 and had it aligned. I’ve had problem ever since I added the rough country track bar. Could be quincedence. I am wondering if the rough country lower control arms are part of the issue. I didn’t have very good success with their adjustable track bar and ended up replacing it with rock krawler and that made a big improvement but I still get DW between 35 and 40 mph. That is why I asked my original question. I not knocking rough country there is place in the market for their products, I just did have much luck and it may not be related to their products.

Mine is having the track bar and lower control arms done right now. I should have it back in about 2 hours. I told them to set the caster to 6.5 degrees when they align it as well because I've read that fixes the problem. I'll let you know how it drives this afternoon.

I have the same tires. The dealer tells me that’s the problem. The shop I took it to to have the work done suggested the same thing.

I’ve been wondering if it the tires and that’s why it only does it at a narrow speed range. Are your the C rates 315 tires or the D rated tire’s. Something to consider. I may swap tires with my sons jeep and see what happens.

It’s not a tire size issue. I rotated my KO2 tires and it didn’t do much. It may be a balancing issue on the KO2 tires and it may not be related to the tires at all. I’m still trying to figure it out and tires are just one of the many possibilities causing my DW. It’s not a tire size issues.

Been driving it for an hour and I can’t induce the wobble anymore after replacing the LCAs and track bar. Only thing is, it seems to be worse when it’s cold and it’s 80 degrees here today so I’m not sure if it’s fixed or not.

That’s great to hear. Maybe if move may caster out a little more it will solve the issues. I’m currently about 5.8 degrees.

Just got it again today. It was so bad I had to slow down on the freeway from 65 to 30 to get it to stop wobbling. My wife was like “no way I am driving that Jeep!”

Took it back to the dealer that “checked it all out” a few weeks ago and pronounced it fine. @JeepCares - this is a REAL issue.

I am not talking about a shimmy, i am talking about a true death wobble they feels like the front of the Jeep will break if you don’t slow down to stop it.

Update:
Service manager, Ralph, called me within 10 minutes of my text going to my salesman at Szott Chrysler Jeep in White Lake, MI. I was able to get there by 1:30 and he already had a 2D manual Sahara JK loaner reserved for me.
He confirmed the part is on backorder but another dealer had 5-6 in stock and was willing to send it over. He will also take care of any other outstanding issues like CC. Said my welds are okay.

So I recommend getting this checked out while some parts are still floating around to avoid having to wait for the back orders to clear. Will update again when completed.

UPDATE
I received a text from Ralph, service manager, today that my Sahara was ready. This was day 12 including drop off day. The drive home went well, definitely better than when I brought it in, but it was only 20 miles back.
Props to Szott Jeep all around. Excellent communication from Ralph throughout the 12 days. The loaner 2 door manual was fun to drive, but glad I’ve got an automatic.
They let me take a pic of the old part, with the scratches now rusting. They have to send the part back to Jeep.

I saw that someone mentioned they noticed theirs was worse when cold. I have experienced the same thing. I take same what home from work each day and the road I take has terrible expansion joints. Noticed once it got cold I had the wobble when going over them at around 45-50 mph. Seems like now that it has warmed back up it is not as bad or even non existent. I put a new Fox SS on yesterday so will be curious to see if it makes a difference. Supposed to get cold again, so will be a good test.
