Thank you! Appreciate the information!Hello everyone,
There was a STAR case created about two weeks that sounds like what you all are describing. I am not trained technician so getting this official diagnose is the best step. Just provide STAR case # S1608000150 during your visit.

Mine too. I heard it pulling out of the dealer. I can't listen to any sports radio or anything with a deep voice because it drives me nuts! I'm going to play with some of these "fixes" to see if I have any luck.Mine was from day one
I think the harness is a symptom of the issue because I still get weird vibration up my steering column that wasn't there at first. I think the speakers being out of phase is very possible. I'm going to work with my dealer on the issue.Funny how different ways fix this problem. Mine was clearly that harness that I posted yesterday. More to come I guess
Your issue sounds just like mine - try popping off that front driver side speaker cover on the dash between the dash and windshield to remove the speaker and see if it goes away.Mine too. Great news - just talked with my dealer, he also has a JL with Alpine and he has the same issue. Maybe we'll get somewhere.Your issue sounds just like mine - try popping off that front driver side speaker cover on the dash between the dash and windshield to remove the speaker and see if it goes away.
If you do the above steps and confirm that removing the front left speaker removes the sound from the front left (you may now notice it from the front right), then you've got the same issue as me: a speaker/crossover issue where the amp is letting too much bass get to these front dash speakers that just can't handle the bass.
- With everything connected normally, call Fifth Third Bank's automated phone system (1-800-972-3030) and let the voice play for a second - this should be a great way to reproduce the sound
- Slide something between the edge of the speaker cover and the dash itself (trim tool, screwdriver, etc), and pry it up - it is held in by 4 clips).
- A small (short handle) phillips screwdriver takes out two small screws holding the actual speaker in place.
- Lift the speaker out and you'll see the wires are connected with a plastic clip/plug. Disconnect that plug.
- Call the Firth Third number again to reproduce the sound - do you notice that it's gone from the front left? Do you hear it in the front right, now?
I believe the only fix for this will be @JeepCares passing the info along for Jeep to release a TSB to correct the crossover at the amp, OR for @JeepCares to pass the information along and Jeep to decide to swap out these speakers with ones that can handle the lower frequencies (bass) that the amp is passing to these speakers.
Either way, it'd be awesome if @JeepCares could acknowledge/test/confirm the above as well - none of us wants to be another guinea pig for dealerships who apparently do not know what they're doing with this (based on reports in this thread).
Dealer is off today, said he'd check with service dept. again tomorrow, but he has not yet heard of a fix being availabe.Great news - just talked with my dealer, he also has a JL with Alpine and he has the same issue. Maybe we'll get somewhere.
