Page 120 of the owners manual contains the same step for 2 door models.

"4. While pushing downward slightly on the folded soft top, slide the lock lever on the driver and passenger side lift assist mechanisms to the “lock” position.

5. Once the lock is in the “lock” position, push downward on each side of the folded soft top to ensure it is secure. An audible “click” may be heard."

If yours is not working, take it to the dealer, so them this, and ask them to fix it.
I do hear the click but it is WAY before any hard pushing. It is definitely locked but does not go down as tight as yours does. The dealership has a 4dr that they are going to test for me.

Okay, I went out and played some more and took a video. I didnt have anyone around to take the video for me. I think your "click" is actually one of the cross bars being "clicked" behind the rear window bottom supports. Is this really what you are supposed to do? When you pull it back up it feels as if those are going to snap. Not to mention the cloth is being pinched behind it. At the end I say "it yanks this thing right off" but what I meant was seems like it can yank it right off. It seriously bends up to the bolt point.

Here is my 2nd video to my one above to show how it is to lift it if I do force it down behind there and the bar “clicks”. After I’ve done it a few times it isn’t bending as much but still doesn’t seem right. You can see the marks on the soft top from the pinching.

Wondered my my top wasn't locking, but honestly the amazon velcro straps work great and keep the top firmly in place.

Either you are really lucky or it's strictly at 4dr thing, cuz I just now tried this and it does NOT do any further clicking on my 2dr. I even crawled up on the back bumper and put all my weight on the corner of the top and still nothing. Guess I'll keep my straps.
Yeah, same here. I do actually get the two "clicks" (one for each side) but it still bounces around. My bungees do the trick though .

This is the "correct way" to run your soft top!

Looks like premium soft top is a totally different set of mechanics

Thank you for this. So, my mind is now totally unblown. There's no way I'm doing that. My velcro straps are waaaay better than forcing the fabric in the well and pinching it like that. Maybe it's different on a 4 door...

What are the mechanics like on the standard soft top?
Isn’t that what your picture shows? Maybe I’m just seeing the difference from my 2dr if yours is premium.
