Has anyone had an issue with the soft top drooping behind the driver side rear passenger seat where the 2 screws hold the hardware together (I'll update with pics later). Mine droops down to the point where it contacts the hardtop mounting point and rattles/bangs like all hell and its don't that since day 1 of owning it. of course now that I've finally got some time to get it looked at I'm fresh out of the 3/36k warranty. Dealership is trying to get it covered under goodwill but looking for ideas that don't involve buying a new top if that doesn't work out.

Is your Jeep recurringly parked outside with the soft top installed? I've seen any number of used JL-generation Jeeps for sale, with the premium tops, where sag (similar to what you describe) was plainly evident. Just wondering if it's a known shortcoming with the acrylic fabric that Bestop used when designing the top.

Yea it’s parked outside but is a hardware issue not a fabric issue. Just behind the rear passenger door there’s a joint where 2 arms are bolted together between the hinges. That joint seems to droop and hit the hardtop mounting point but I can’t tell if there’s another misalignment somewhere.

Update with the pics.

below is the passenger side when the soft top is folded back. Note the amount of space between the soft top hardware and the hardtop mounting bracket.

this is the drivers side it looks like when the soft top arm hits that angled block it forces the entire arm to sag. When I close the top that small gap remains and bangs on the hardtop bracket every time there’s a bump in the road.

I’ve tried tightening bolts but this happens every time the top is folded back. Doesn’t say much for the $1500 premium top.

I wonder if the tension that the latches provide is not correct on that side?

I’ve had an unexplained rattle from my driver side behind the drivers seat. I’m interested on how to resolve the issue. I am going to look at the latch tension.

I’d check the area circled in pic 2. My Jeep goes back to the shop on Monday and I’ll update with whatever they say
