21’ rubicon. Are Asfir skids quality? I’d like to add engine and transfer case skids asap. Plan to run the oem gas tank skid until I find a reason to replace. Any other suggestions? Prefer aluminum for weight. Thank you!

I have been running Asfir engine skid for 3 years now; 1.5 years on my 21 Rubi and 1.5 years on my 22 Rubi XR. I have run about 20 laps on Badge of Honor trails including a level 9/10, a 7, and numerous 6s. The skid has seen heavy, heavy rock luvin and is still doing fine. (You can see this skid getting hammered in several of the videos in my sig, including a real grind on Easter Egg Hill in the Flat Iron Mesa movie.) Get you some diff covers, too. Note that the Asfir engine skid interferes with install of some front diff skids.

I found that my Rough Country front diff skid didn't work, so I just went with an ARB diff cover instead. I wish I had a full front diff skid, but I just didn't make the effort to find the one that works and instead went with the heavy-duty diff cover and called it good. I should put a rear diff skid on, though; there's no conflict there... I just kind of forgot until this discussion.

Ended up ordering an engine skid and transfer case skid from TNT customs out of Wyoming. I am going to run the factory gas tank skid until it needs. I will post pictures as soon as they come in and I throw the Jeep on the rack for install.

That should help. TNT uses 3/16" (6061 T6) aluminum, which is a bit thin if you come down hard, but the price is attractive. The Artec and Asfir are 1/4" aluminum. Artec are 6061 T6 (full hard heat treated alloy) and the Asfir are 5052 (low alloy, not heat treatable). During these troubled times in Israel, I would worry about delivery from Asfir.

You may wish to reconsider Alum for skid plates.

1). Skid plates made of Steel LOWERS your CoG. NOTE: If you are a rock crawler, this is VALUABLE, if a mob or just dirt Alum would work for. you.

2). If you are a rock guy. Unless they are making skid plates out of 7076 T6 Aircraft Grade or Mil Spec stuff then ther Alum will gouge or the rock stopping all forward progress..

Alum was tried back in the mid-2000s on TJ's and it did not last long at all, see why at 1 & 2 above...

I try to spend in the US when possible and have been following TNT for a while. Looking forward to having some protection underneath because the trans cooler lines are very exposed as well as a ton of other parts.

Not a rock crawler and would like to keep weight down as I’m not lifting anytime soon. If they get destroyed I’ll replace with something else.

TNT skids showed up yesterday. Transfer case skid is on but I’m struggling with the engine skid. Does anyone have pictures of the engine skid on a 2dr with 2.0?

I looked on TNT's website, on it they claim that the engine skid is only for 4-Doors with the 3.6 engine. If that's true, then you might have to do some driveway modifications...

I called them to order and they are available just not on the website. They are sending me different mounting brackets so that should take care of it. I’ll post pics when I receive them.

TNT Customs transfer case skid and asfir engine/ gear box skid. Asfir required zero drilling and the fitment was great with well built brackets. TNT t case skid has great coverage and fits well, required two holes to be drilled on drivers side for fasteners to secure the front corner.

I ordered an oil pan skid from Asfir on Friday January 26th, forum discount plus free shipping. I got notification from DHL it will be delivered on Wednesday January 31st. Impressive shipping. I wouldn't have it that fast from a local vendor.

Ditto. Mine showed up in 8 days from the time I ordered to the time it arrived. Asfir is still doing business as usual.
