First relatively inexpensive undercarriage mods for me were LCA and dif skids, plus a set of rock sliders to protect the body. I'd do those first then see if you need additional skids for the off-roading that you do (I ended up getting Artec full underbelly skids shortly thereafter, rocky trails banging things up underneath).

Ok that makes sense. I wonder if thats why I can only find 1 or 2 places that even make them for a 2 door. Will for sure check out rock sliders, and maybe the control arm mounts, i believe I saw some of those for pretty cheap so might as well pick them up. Really appreciate the help.
Remember that 90% of the Jeeps are 4drs. Difficult to find mods specific to 2drs because that is where the market is at.

Great advice… LCA skids were my first protection add to the underbelly. Slipping off a rock happens a lot around here.

@3D duck I am not sure on the trans line routing on the 2.0 but it only comes in auto I would find a skid that at least covers the vulnerable engine and trans area. Most of the rest of the jeep could take a hit but a hole in one of those oil pans/lines is disastrous.

I adapted the Quadratec aluminum modular engine and transmission Skid Plate to use on my 3.6 2 door, it took trimming a stud off the gas tank skid.

I got the Aluminum skids because steel skids are HEAVY. I also put on sliders from TNT Customs. Not cheap but super sturdy and frame mounted. I got them in bare steel because powdercoat would double the cost and they are going to get scraped up anyway. I painted them using Rustoleum.

The LCA skids saved my shocks a bunch of times. That said, they do catch more because they are lower. Notice the shock body still got hit, so choose your lines carefully and you can avoid most damage.

The main skids add a lot of weight, and I'm not a fan of how heavy I've gotten (and the Jeep). Also, having skids makes you feel invincible and you start choosing lines that scrape/bash when you otherwise wouldn't have.

Sounds like you are not going to be tempting fate, so save the money and continue to being careful on what line you choose. 🍻

I’d start with engine/ trans skid. I went with Asfir for engine/ trans and TNT customs for their belly pan skid. Still running factory rubicon gas tank skid. After those skids I went with TNT customs sliders.
