I think it still pops. I did them all on my Mojito a couple months ago. Should of come this way

Thanks. Not perfect, but close to an “OEM quality” finish. Lol. It looks good but since OB is so deep a color it doesn’t have the pop and contrast with my black interior like Mojito! or Punkin does.

When I had my dash painted I couldn’t find Firecracker red. I took it to a touch up paint shop and the color code cross referenced to Speed Red. Had mine painted and a satin clear finish on it.

It was sort of expensive but the results look great. I looked all over for touch-up paint and couldn't find any so I went to a paint supply house and they recommended a local shop that specialized in touch-up work. The price would have been $100 if I would have gotten a gloss finish but I wanted satin clear which he did not have so it cost a little more for that. To me it was a bargain because I am a horrible painter!

These look awesome! Has anybody tried painting their dash white to match the white exterior paint?

So I bought these trim covers, as I was afraid I’d screw up my factory ones. I wanted to paint them blue. I wanted the color to be just a hair darker than Ocean Blue, so I used Duplicolor Sonic Blue Pearl. I’m happy with the result....but I’ve still got to put a clear coat on it. With the pearl in the duplicolor....I really don’t want it to look glossy. Over a pearl base, how do I get a smoother satin/matte finish? I used a swatch to put a satin clear over it and I thought it looked a little cheap. Any ideas?

A problem with DIY satin is that (as far as I know) you can’t color sand (wet sand) any imperfections. It looks like you have quite a bit of dimpling / orange peel there, which (I think) can only be removed by sanding.

You might want to color sand and see how it comes out.

So an update. I re-worked them a bit by sanding and adding 2 coats, then put 3 matte coats on.

Is anyone making these aftermarket? Think there is a demand for someone to? I’m disabled and suck at painting so I was curious. Thanks
