My info is way old, but Jeep used to claim every model they put the āTrail Ratedā badge on actually ran the Rubicon. There were lots of stacked rocks when I ran it and the belief was Jeep groomed (made easier) the trail to make it possible for stock Liberties and Grand Cherokees to make it through.
My how things change. I did the Rubicon 15-20 years ago in a first gen Grand Cherokee with 4.5ā lift and 33s, locked front and rear. I presume itās much more challenging today.
Power goes into the tailgate via the grommet on the right, then into the cab, then behind plastic trim pieces up to the front.
I do have AUX switches, so I wired to come on in reverse or on AUX switch 1, in case I needed to discourage a tailgater, but Iāve never had to use that feature.
I had a WK with a 4ā lift that slightly modified the angle of the front diff. The front gears went bad, so the dealership replaced the entire front axle under warranty; within 10 miles of installation the axle went went bad. Hmmm, must have been a manufacturing defect, so they replaced entire...
My JL is 20 months old, started getting āESS not available, battery chargingā. Took to dealer and both batteries were bad and replaced. As others have said, you small battery is probably bad (and you main battery might be going bad).
Good luck with that. I had my dealer look at the issue and they pretty much said āworks as designedā (this from supposedly one of the better service departments).
If you do manage to get a resolution to this, please post the service order detailing the work performed so the rest of us can use...
I have this setup, but my Rubi is in the shop so canāt take pics for a few days. I am toying with the idea of moving the camera to the hoop. (My camera is from Z Automotive, not a stock trail cam.)
Maximus-3 - I just installed your XLP hoop, but the package didnāt come with the shims (or the bolts mentioned on your product page, but I donāt need those). I really think the hoop would look better if the shim extended to the entire horizontal portion of the depression area, see yellow portion...
Apparently Maximus never announced it, but they either had an introduction sale or Thanksgiving sale as I got mine for $30 off (product page had normal price of $349, current price $319). Price is now $349.
To fix, go buy one or two cheap moving blankets at Harbor Freight and wedge them between the rear portion of the roll cage and the hardtop. Youāll fix the issue and also have some useful moving blankets nicely stored out of the way.
The noise is caused by the plastic hardtop fluttering at...
I wheeled a 4ā lifted WK with IFS for 10 years, lots of rock crawling with extreme articulation. It did fine, but a bit less stable on the trail than my friendsā straight axle Jeeps. I went back to a straight front axle primarily due to weakness of the IFS bushings; I had to have them replaced...
Iām prepping my compressor on the ARB under seat mount, trying to tidy things up so I put the excess wire from the switch loom next to one of the compressors, is this area going to get too hot for the wire loom?
Once installed, how much room is there under the compressor?
A good automotive paint store that mixes paint in their store should be able to put any color in a can, but you better have a dust-free paint booth and experience to apply it or youāll be unhappy with the result. Been there, done that, ended up getting my panels done by Rau, which are perfect.
I swapped my sensors to a CavFab bumper and now I get a false detection when backing out of my driveway onto the curb; I guessed wrong on aiming the sensors, oh well, Iāll live with it and continue to use the backup camera and my eyes.
In other words, youāre overthinking it; if the sensors are...
THIS! Plus, if you havenāt already done it, get someone to move the steering wheel back and forth while youāre under the Jeep looking for any movement in any of the bushings, linkages and even the mounts themselves - maybe one of the mounts is weak and allowing movement.
