So I need to separate the RCV axle shaft from the CV joint part itself. Any suggestions?
Long story shortish: I ordered RCV axle shafts, keeping FAD. Installed passenger side just fine. Went to install driver side and found out that they shipped 2 passenger side axle shafts (it is thicker than the driver side and has the extra knob on the end). I contacted RCV and they said they would send a replacement. They only shipped the replacement axle shaft and I had already connected the shaft into the CV joint part itself since I was going to install it.
Now my problem is that I need to separate the axle shaft from the CV joint so that I can install the correct axle shaft and then install in my Jeep. I don't have a full workshop and no vice. Is there a way to get these pieces separated or should I just bring it to 4WP or Offroad Warehouse to have them do it? I live in Riverside, CA and the shop I used to go to now only does full custom builds, not daily installs or fixes.
