I’ve done and ordered the regear (4.88)with new axles(RCV one piece) and a LSD(yukon helical)for the front of our Sahara JLU.
My question before I get it all installed is, because I’ll no longer need the FAD unit because the front axle will be one piece, will it change the way it turns on road VS Stock?
I’m guessing it will feel a whole lot different because of the LSD?
Or should I not even worry about it?

I kept the FAD with my RCV’s. The steering is lighter…like it has more power assist but it’s got to be the CV joints.

I’m more worried about LSD upfront and RCV solid axle.
Hopefully the lsd gives enough to not notice what I turn.

Just curious what size tires you'll be running with the 4.88's. 37's?

Depending on the lift height. If you manage to keep the stock driveshaft without tearing it up on articulation you wont notice much of a difference. Anything around 3.5 plus with an aftermarket driveshaft and no fad might vibrate because of the angle. You have to run less caster at that point and its not as nice

Generally a helical gear unit up front will be invisible until torque is applied. I found them ok even on icy roads. It was fine.

That has been my experience. I have a TrueTrac (helical limited slip) in the front of my 2001 Cherokee. One piece axle shafts so everything is always turning. I don't notice it at all in daily driving, even in adverse conditions (rain, snow, and ice).

I'm running 3.5" lift, no FAD, and Adams 1350 CV front drive shaft with no vibration. Caster is low 6. My axle shafts are Dana Spicer chromoly though......I've read on the forum where the RCV 1 piece shafts have caused vibrations though.

Should be good with the LSD upfront. WJ with the Quadra drive system came factory that way. Loved them in mine.
