First post but I have been lurking around this forum for months now. I am very impressed with members knowledge and thank you for sharing it with newbies like me! I am finally able to put order in for Sahar 4xe. I am wandering about the Anti-Spin rear diff option in the Jeep configurator. Since Sahara 4xe comes from the factory with selec-trac (4 auto) shouldn't anti-spin diff be part of it? When I do standard configuration on Sahara and I choose selec-trac it automatically requires me to order anti-spin differential option. I must be missing something please help me understand.

Short answer, no. The anti-spin (limited slip) is within the differential and totally independent from the 4wd auto which has a series of clutches within the transfer case. Anti-spin uses an automatic, mechanical method to lock right/left axles together. The transfer case (in auto mode only) compares signals from the wheel speed sensors and sends a signal to the transfer case clutches to lock the front and rear drive shafts.

Thank you for your response. I will use my jeep to drive in snow and slippery conditions. With 4 auto engaged, would anti-spin provide visible improvement in these conditions or will it be negligable and not worth the additional cost.

I've found a limited slip helps a lot on 4wd vehicles is the snow. If I weren't getting lockers, I'd definitely get the anti-spin.

Definitely get anti-slip (LSD) differential as this is great in snow, sand, mud. That combined with Selec-Trac full-time 4wd will make a formidable low-traction machine. I think this setup is better than lockers for a street vehicle.
