I just looked up a window sticker that shows Dana 44. This sticker also has the increased msrp and destination.Nope. Dana 35 standard on Sport. Anti spin got you the Dana 44 as well. Mopar parts lists the Dana 35 with and without Trac-Lok.
M220 is D44Shit. Mine doesn't show the 44 axle on my sticker. anyone know what it would look like in the build sheet?
Edit: My build sheet shows Dana M220 Rear Axle
Is that the Sport axle or the Rubi axle?
This is old info and not correct. From Administrator Jay:
JL Sport (standard)
M186 Front Axle / Next Generation Dana 44 HD Rear Axle
JL Sahara (standard)
205MM Front Axle / Next Generation Dana 44 HD Rear Axle
JL Rubicon (standard)
Dana M210 Wide Front Axle / Dana M220 Wide Rear Axle
JL Sahara (optional package)
205MM Front Axle / Dana M220 Rear Axle
Also previous info from our Info Compilation thread.
- CV joints on front axle of Selec-Trac (AWD) models
- U-joints on front axle of Rubicon
Thanks for the correction. Thought I was passing along good information. This is old info and not correct.
Sport and Sahara both have M186 front and M200 rear axles standard.
LSD option includes M220 rear axle.
Rubi gets M210 wide and M220 wide.
If you have the VIN, check the build sheet:Is there an easy way to identify a D35 vs D44 rear axle when shopping JLs on the lot?
If D44 is no longer listed on the window sticker I want to be sure I’m getting the D44 and not the D35 with the LSD.
I am not certain of the appearance of the diff cover but I don’t expect there to be too much of a difference on these next gen axles. But basically on lot you need to look under the jeep at the diff cover. Here is an older comparison. You can find these all over the net on forums, etc.Is there an easy way to identify a D35 vs D44 rear axle when shopping JLs on the lot?
