Some MTs have blocks close enough that the grooves will hold snow in them which gives you snow-on-snow traction. In addition to rubber compounds and siping, snow-on-snow traction from retained snow in the treads is a big part of winter tire traction. A lot of MTs have huge grooves for shedding mud and will therefore shed too much snow to allow for snow-on-snow traction. Others will hold enough snow to be decent. But a lot of them are pretty hard rubber compounds in really cold temps and few other than some "hybrids" on the mild end have any siping at all. Siping is key, especially if there is any melting/salt/moisture on the road surface.
Claiming ignorance here, but siping is basically cuts in the tread, right? The picture below is my KM3 with cuts in the middle lugs. Is that considered siping or are they too large?

All the small little "cuts" in the tread blocks you see on the Wrangler AT Adventure is the siping. This tire is M&S rated but a dedicated winter tire will have much more than this one.

Thanks. That helps. Mine is M+S rated but obviously very different from what you posted. Not a big deal to me as we don’t normally get a lot of snow - ice is common, though. Just trying to learn.

Ice might pose more of a problem to the KM3 than for other AT tires, but then again its dangerous for just about any tire.

Yes
Ice is ice. Tire studs or chains will help on ice.

They have the exact same suspension and the Moab has worse tires. What are you comparing to?
Like I said , I have both the Moab and Rubicon and the ride is far better in the Moab

Are they both stock? The only thing I can think of is the CV joints on the Moab vs the U joints on the Rubicon.

Yes both stock, night and day on how they drive

What do you mean by that? There should be very little difference, if anything the Moab would be worse off with its KM2’s. Is something wrong with your rubicon?

He posted above that the 2018 is a JK. I know my JLUR drives way better than my JK did. That’s what the difference is.

Oh I see that now. Why would you even compare those? They’re hardly the same vehicle.
I don’t disagree, just saying
