It's New Tire Tuesday!!

Just finished putting on 315/70/R17's on stock Rubicon wheels with no lift kit:

I love the way it fills the wheel wells a bit more!

Can't wait to clean it up and take it for a test drive!!!
Looks great!

Are you adjusting the computer for the change in tire size, and if so, how are you accomplishing that change?

Thanks!!

I'm just going to deal with it for now.. at 60mph it will read 64mph so I guess I'll never get a ticket!! (I hope I'm right about that!! LOL)

35x12.5 are wider tires. Not recommended on stock rubi wheels.

What's the difference between 315/70 and 35x12.5?
Well, strictly mathematically about -.64” in diameter and -.10” in width with the metric number being less than the imperial numbers.

If you go bigger on tire size the opposite will happen. So when your speedo reads 60 you'll be going 64. That's what is happening with mine on 35x12.5/17 Duratracs.

Verified by GPS.

Switching my stock Rubicon 4xe tires to 35x12.50 R17 (mostly Falken Wildpeak A/T) and trying to figure out which specs for Method 703 i should order (https://www.methodracewheels.com/products/703-matte-black?variant=39290131808317). I am not planning to lift at the moment and most city driving.

Options are: 17x8.5 | 5x5 (25/5.78' or 0/4.75').
I'm looking at the same wheels - assuming we would want to go with the 0 offset - assuming clearance would be an issue with the +25 offset.

Is anyone able to verify?

Can anyone comment if 315/70/17 KO2’s will rub on a JLUR at max flex if I put on a 0.5” coil spacer and 0.5” bumpstop spacer? My friend is selling his raptor takeoffs cheap and I’m considering buying them. Wife doesn’t want a lift we we’d appreciate the softer ride off road.

I am fairly sure it would rub at max flex. With a 2.5" suspension (Clayton and MC for example) the recommended added bumpstops are 2.5 - 3 inches to fit 35s. Now the other suspension components are more flexy than OEM, but still to get to 1 inch of bumpstop I had to remove inner fenders and liners...with nearly 3 inches of lift. 35s on .5 and .5 even with OEM components I think would rub at full flex.

Some fitment pics of the 35x11.50 on stock wheels. The wheels look different than yours, but have the exact same offset/width/diameter.

I have 1.5 inch wheel spacers on my Jeep and that’s probably why it looks different

Do 35" tires fit on the stock tire carrier on a JLUR with the factory steel bumpers? Specifically the Toyo Open Country AT3 in 35x11.5x17.
No it does not but rough country carries an extension that works great it’s easy to install and you can keep your same brake light
