  1. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

Current setup is sitting level left to right within about 1/4”. Front is at 3.75” lift (w/ one 3/4” spacer on the front right) and rear is 4” lift. Some rear rake still by design. My Jeep is a JLUR 6-speed with sky one touch roof. Even with full skids I think it is still on the light side of...
  2. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

You got it 👍🏼 Be sure to post up your setup and where you end up riding at. I’m sure it’ll help out some others down the road.
  3. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

Thanks! The rear is sitting at 6-3/4” shaft showing at ride height and about 1/2” at bump w/o the bump stop installed.
  4. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

Great point! I did, however i really didn’t want to raise the Jeep more than necessary. Now if you want a higher lift than recommended by bilstein, the MC mounts would be perfect!
  5. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

They have been great! I have around 14,000 miles on the setup with no issues. I do wish mine had the clicker adjustment knobs that the new ones come equipped with. I’d play around with settings more if I didn’t need tools to make changes. It’s $100/knob to upgrade :( I haven’t heard them making...

  7. Anyone Running Metal Cloak Front Proalignment + Rear DB3 Control Arm Correction Brackets?

Review after 1,500 miles and one trip to Moab. very happy with the brackets! Steering and tracking has been solid. No shakes, shimmy, even over diagonal expansion joints at interstate speeds. I lowered my caster to 4.8 and it still feels great with the fox ats steering stabilizer set to the...
  8. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

Current measurements. The Synergy springs haven’t sagged at all 👍🏼 This is with Synergy 3” springs front and 4” rear. I have a 3/4” spacer on the front right to level everything out. 1/2 fuel tank eye-to-eye FL: 23-3/4” FR: 23-1/2” RL: 26-1/4” RR: 26” Could go slightly lower in the rear but I...
  9. Bilstein 8100 bypass shock review

I’ve been running Bilstein 8100 bypass shocks with Synergy springs (3” front/4” rear), Metal Cloak arms and track bars on a 2022 JLUR 6-speed. I’ve got around 7,000 miles and a fair amount of wheeling on them. Bottom line: if you enjoy moving quicker in your Jeep, and have the budget, they are a...

  11. Anyone Running Metal Cloak Front Proalignment + Rear DB3 Control Arm Correction Brackets?

They said it’s a typo on the phone and on their Facebook page. :/ MC control arm length recommendation for the DB3 on a JL: 17.5” upper 20.5” lower
  12. Anyone Running Metal Cloak Front Proalignment + Rear DB3 Control Arm Correction Brackets?

For the DB3 I didn’t as the MetalCloak upper CA minimum length was 17.5”, where I had it for the 3.5” lift. I left the uppers at their minimum length then adjusted the lowers to set 2* pinion angle. For the front, I set the lower CA to the stock length at 24”. I then adjusted the uppers to give...
  13. Anyone Running Metal Cloak Front Proalignment + Rear DB3 Control Arm Correction Brackets?

Here’s my 100 mile and one off road trip with the DB3 and pro’lignment. I’m sitting at 4” lift. I went with the middle 3” lift setting on the front upper control arm bracket. The bottom 4” setting looked too low. Install while not hard was aggravating at times. See above posts about the DB3...
  14. Anyone Running Metal Cloak Front Proalignment + Rear DB3 Control Arm Correction Brackets?

I just installed the DB3 and pro’lignment this weekend. you do not need to drill through the frame. I called MC and they didn’t offer much help and said it clears on the JK and didn’t know what my problem was more or less. I ended up not continuing to drill and used some washers to reduce the...
  15. Anyone Running Metal Cloak Front Proalignment + Rear DB3 Control Arm Correction Brackets?

Thanks for the write up! Did you need to change your control arm lengths when installing the brackets?
  16. Suspension For Higher Speed Off-Road

If you build your own kit consider Bilstein 8100 bypass shocks. I went Bilstein 8100 bypass shocks, synergy springs and MetalCloak arms. Very impressed with the results. The shocks are specific to the JL and a bolt on kit. I enjoy moving quicker in my Jeep. They have made it a great all round...
  17. ↕ The Great Shock Debate ↕

I went synergy 3” front/4” rear and Bilstein 8100 bypass shocks. They’ve been amazing! I have 8000 miles on them, two Moab trips, one sand hollow trip and typically wheel locally 2-3 times a month. Absolutely no regrets with the price tag after our first outing. I really enjoy going quicker off...
  18. Off-roading with a manual transmission?

MT with 4.88 gears and 35’s, so much fun and enjoyable off road. Able to tackle 7/10 trails and the 4:1 transfer keeps stalling to a minimum. Basically echo everything already said.
  19. 3 Days in Arches/Moab. Which trails?

Looks like the trip has been great! To clean up the Arches NP timed entry. I was there two weeks ago and planned on entering before 6am or taking the back route to avoid the entry but was told after 6am you must have the timed entry ticket with you to be in the park. Basically no way around it...
