If you want to see more of it, I have a review video on my YouTube channel (link below). You'll find the video on the playlist 'Equipment Reviews'.

Lastly, you can get 10% off anything Expedition One makes by using the code: expeditionbuilds10 when you checkout on their site. Hope this helps.

The mule rack ultra seems to cover the freedom panels. Is yours the same one with a section not installed? Also do you know the height of the rack (would like know if I will clear my 7’ garage door. Thanks. Beautiful ride!

I don’t know if you know the folks at expedition one but their website is horrible. Finding the midrack was a chore. Ordering it is near impossible. Keeps asking me to select options when I did. No way to add to cart. Not real confidence inspiring. Not on you, just saying I wanted to order that rack and gave up. Lol

Hi Brian,

I have met one of their reps at Easter Jeep Safari last year.

I agree with you, their website leaves a lot to be desired. How can I help? I don't mind sending an email to my contact and letting them know you want to place an order.

PM me if you like.

I just tried their website and yikes, it is bad.

I did notice something while screwing around with it... You can add the rack to your cart with the option for the cutout for a 40" lightbar selected, but not without it selected.

Steven, if you talk to them, maybe you ought to remind them the year is 2023, not 1997. :CWL:

Starting up the first obstacle on 'Pickle'. This trail is roughly a mile long through a canyon/wash and has a very narrow section in the middle.

I ran this trail a few years back in my JK. I found it a little more challenging in the wider JL.

thanks Steven. I did end up ordering it. Put it together and mounted it yesterday. Very well made. Not an easy assembly and install for guys with big fingers. Lots of tight spots. Had my daughter get the bolts started for the basket to gutter clamps. But a really really nice piece.

My only wish is that they modified the rear gutter clamp so that it can loosened while on the jeep. I can get the front and middle with a cut piece of Allen wrench and small box wrench but it’s impossible to loosen the rear gutter clamp (due to width of rack) without loosening and removing the basket and those bolts required my daughters assistance. All that said, it was worth it.

also it is dead quiet when driving.

I will not be going any higher than 37s as I now have about 1” of garage door clearance. Lol

Hey Brian,

Glad to see this worked out! It looks great on your Jeep.

There is a lot of assembly, it reminded me of putting together an erector set and small hands are a huge help. Agree with you regarding the rear mount, The access hole could be enlarged. I am able to just get an allen head wrench on it at a quarter turn at a time. The good news is mine has not moved and runs quiet. How much shim did you use on yours?

PS Did the discount code work for you?

Discount code did not work for me. Used 1 shim for the front and middle and 2 in rear but I could have gone 1 shim all the way around I think. Not messing with those mount bolts again though. Lol. I wanted the front a bit lower to ensure the front seal was somewhat tight for wind noise. For me it seems like the angle on the rear gutter bolt is too steep to get to the bolt in the rear mount with any length Allen. Even tried cutting shorter lengths. But like you said, I have no plans to remove it so hopefully it just stays put. It’s a great rack.

Hi Brian, this is a follow up to our previous conversation regarding the poor user experience when on the Expedition One website.

I did hear back from Expedition One. I highlighted for them the dead links and bad user experience, general frustration. According to them, they have fixed the issues we saw.

With regards to the expeditionbuilds10 code not working, that has been fixed as well. They tell me the 'Free Shipping' code was overwriting the expedtionbuilds10 10% off code.

I don't make any monetary gain from a sale, but I do like try and help fellow Jeepers with the 10% off. I am also interested in tracking engagement/sales from my YouTube videos.

Enjoy your rack, it sure looks great on your Jeep brother✌?
