If that doesn’t work out as well as you hope, buy yellow zinc class 10.9 fasteners. I replaced the original hardware with that and it’s been great.

Ya. It should be fine. If I ordered those it would be about $150 by the time it hit my place up here.

Just finished the rears. I really had no idea what 190 ft/lbs felt like. Lol.

Ok, so there is zero chance the tab is slipping over old mount. The diff side is too flared out. It's never been hit or bent so I don't know wtf is going on. Unless someone has an easy fix, I'm putting stock bolts in and will attempt these another time.

Could always grind the diff-side "wing" down. However, I think that the bent section of the skid on the right hand side of your pic is supposed to hook onto the tire-side "wing". From the pic it looks like it's popped off.

I will say, maybe they beefed them up? This front one hit 190 and didn't pinch at all. I literally can't get it any tighter. Pretty sure bolt is going to break. Maybe a couple washers but I really am done dealing with this today. It won, for now.

IMO, that's why I think so many people get a clunk out of them. At 190 ft lb the stock bracket deforms just slightly and grabs the outside of the arm/bushing. With the RH skid, I don't think this happens, and this allows for the clunk many have experienced due to movement of the arm within the bracket.

They shouldn’t really be loose when fully tightened down. If they are, your best bet may be to slip a washer in between the shim and the mounting bracket. Don’t just pull the bolt out, you’ve already experienced the agony of getting everything to line up. Get an extra bolt, remove the nut, and use the extra bolt to drive the one you’re fastening back out. Then back the bolt you’re using as a drift out a little. Only enough to slide the washer in. Once it’s in place just use the hammer to tap the fastening bolt through, driving out the extra bolt you used as a drift.

Appreciate the help, but look at my picture again my friend. That is the driver side.
You're right, my bad. Don't know why they didn't tighten down for you then. I put mine on without reading the directions and just got lucky they are on the correct side.

Ya, stock is back in. I think fucked up the bolt on first attempt and shit just went south from there. Then I couldn't get it out because I didn't have enough room for leverage. Between blood, sweat, tears, swearing in both our official languages and beating the shit out of the dogs, it never occurred to me to lift the fucking axle to make room to remove it. Lol. Stock is back on, I'll get some new hardware and attempt again another time. I'm going wheeling tomorrow. Rears are on so I'll do everything backwards to make sure.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna make a couple washers in there as well next attempt. Getting the bolt in is actually pretty easy on level ground and lifting the body.
