As far as I'm tracking there is a second battery and second starter for the Automatic Start on the JL's. I know I'm not the only person that completely hates that function. I am posting to see if anyone has deleted that stupid autostart system, but kept the battery around to utilize it as a dual battery system, pluggin up your secondary lights, fridge or any other aftermarket goods. What yall got for me?:ontheloo:

Roger that thing looks pretty legit. If i ever delete the system i might test the power to see what it can run anything at all.
So the kit cost $599.00 and doesn't even include the batteries???

Yep. And it's a shame because all of the parts in the kit aside from the battery tray can be had for about $150-$175 bucks or less. A fancy battery tray isn't worth over $400 to me.

You need to identify whether you have the Etorque option or the plain ESS. If you think you have two starters its probably ET.

ET has a 48v battery under the floor.
ESS has a motorcycle battery under the fuse box.

Neither one will do you any good for your purposes.

If you have a home alarm system with battery backup, stick it in there.
Hopefully works better in the small metal box than our JL's
