I don’t know that I’ve read the sensors are improved, just that they are available separately.
They are not improved and will fail again. Mine did. They last about 10,000, pretty pathetic.

Imo, if it fails out of warranty diy repair with potting. Or swap to a different locker brand.

You can bypass with zauto, but that's like closing your eyes to the incoming train. You won't see the problem..

I did this and ignoring the locker state means you won't know if it's engaged or not.. Leading to a broken locker..

Cost me $20k for Fusion axles :)

Anyone have a link to the sensors? I'm assuming its best to change both out at the same time?

FWIW my 2018's locker sensor warning started coming on a few weeks ago. It comes on for a few seconds then goes away. Sometimes it'll go a day or two without coming on, then will come on again a few times, always only for a few seconds.

I remember it being listed in the TSB, but the TSB isn't showing in my all data.

Looks like it's Mopar 68544629AA. Gatdamn, $400 for 5 sensors. Can't get them cheaper directly from Dana I assume?

And why do they come in packs of 5?

Edit... I'm not sure if I'm getting that notification for the front locker. Nevermind.

It’s trial and error, you try them until the light turns off. The 5 are somehow calibrated differently.

OH wow that sounds miserable. Sounds like I need to get those diff covers off asap and get the sensors potted.

It's not as bad as it sounds. You're just looking for the light to go out, you don't have to put everything back together between attempts.

That's good to know. I guess my alarm was the buying 5 for $400 just to use two of them and having to play musical sensors in the hopes two fix both lockers (if you were in the situation OP is in).

PLUS, SHUT UP AND GIVE ME AN EXCUSE TO BUY DIFF COVERS TO REPLACE WHILE I'M IN THERE TO POT THEM, MATT!

Problem with mine is my warning light is not constantly on. I could swap sensors, refill the diff oil, then drive a few days and realize I need to try another sensor.

Since mine comes on so sporadically, think potting it is still a possibility?

It should come on once it's disconnected, then you'd replace until one works.

Not sure it can be saved, mine died on a trip and was DOA when I got home.

Anybody reading this tread…if you’ve not yet potted your sensors, don’t wait, especially if you’re near warranty expiration. It’s easy to do…and they will fail.
