This just happened to my '21 that's just passed the 36 month btb warranty. Does anyone know if this is covered under the 5/60,000 power train warranty?

The z-locker harness is under $200. I'd spend that just to save the time dealing with the dealer. Best case scenario is covered by warranty but they won't order the parts even if you tell them it needs a rear locker sensor. Instead you have to make an appointment. Drive 45 minutes to the dealer, wait an hour an a half past your appointment time for a tech to agree it needs a new sensor. Now they order it and you drive 45 minutes home. You're 3 hours into the repair that hasn't started yet. The part comes in, another appointment, another 45 minute drive, either drop it off or wait the 4hrs they somehow make 20 minutes worth of work take, and drive 45 minutes home. 9 hours of your time and all they did was swap in a sensor that you don't need (jk rubicons don't have them and it's pretty damn obvious when you drive it if the locker is working or not) and is likely to fail again. Or pay the $170, unplug the connector, plug it into the new harness, and plug the new harness into the axle. Jeep still sees the "sensor" which is really just reading if the 12v is being applied to the locker to turn it on or not. Jeep is happy, everything works, and you saved yourself 9hours and future issues with the locker sensor disabling your lockers on the trail for $170 and 5 minutes of your time.

Ours also happened while on a huge wheeling road trip in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana, and happened on our way to Oregon.. Thankfully we didn't have to use our lockers at all in Tillamook forest BOH . 2,000 miles away from our house in Indiana, thankfully Oregon was our last BOH state before returning home.
Hopefully you had the Tazer to turn off the lockers, it would have driven me crazy going that long with the error.

Here's powertrain coverage for reference:

Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Transfer case and all internal parts; transfer case control module and shift mode motor assembly; axle housing and all internal parts; axle shafts; axle shaft bearings; drive shafts assemblies (front and rear); drive shaft center bearings; universal joints and yokes; disconnect housing assembly; and seals and gaskets for the listed components only.

Don't they? You mean because it uses a plunger instead of a Hall effect?

An ex-girlfriend's JKUR had the blinking rear locker light issue 😬
Never seen that issue. I thought they were 2 wire like the TJs but I could be wrong. Most aftermarket lockers don't have sensors which is my point. You should be able to tell if it's locked or not from the drivers seat.

Dealing with the same issue, a few posts down. If you read my thread, dealer initially said warranty was voided bc of the lift on our 392. I said BS, brought the TSB to their attention, and they agreed to replace the sensor under warranty.
They initially said the lift "stretched" the wire harness out. I asked if only the harness wires were stretched, the why the need for the $360 locker sensor and not just the $20 harness and plug?! They did not have an answer for that.

Finally made it to the dealer.
New differential on order. They said they still have to replace everything and not just the sensor.
Now I wait until the part comes in.
