Hi there.

I have a brand new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and when I turn off the vehicle, lock the doors and walk away, the “press clutch and push button to start” light illuminates in the dash and does not go out. My key fab is inside my house with plenty of distance away from the vehicle. It has already completely drained my battery and required a jump start.

The dealership does not know how to fix the problem. Can you help?

I also have a 2024 Ruby X - automatic transmission. Same thing is happening to me. Cluster light stays on. Dealership is baffled. I get, "weird, strange, wow- havent seen this before", as my answers. Now I'm driving a rental until they get this resolved. Needless to say, this sucks. I traded in my MB AMG convertible for this Jeep. Not happy.

As already established this isn't normal. Our 23 manual goes dark until the fob enters the vehicle, but it will time out if the fob is left in the jeep for a certain amount of time as well.

I hope I'm wrong, but I am having a grim feeling that this is just the beginning w/this issue. I think its the new 12.4 inch display, but who knows. Next up is a national recall. Not good.

Sounds like we are in the same unfortunate boat. Sorry to hear this for you. Thanks for keeping me posted with what Jeep uncovers for you. I’ll do the same.

Which battery, and were they able to replicate the problem? Check your fuses...push 'em all in... it's a running gag around these parts, but some have found them loose. Most likely not the issue, but it doesn't hurt.

So they expect you to keep draining batteries? I haven't heard of this being a thing & I'm sorry I'm not of much help, but maybe try another dealer... a competent one.
Thank you. I checked the fuses and all were set in place. Unfortunately, it didn’t do the trick. And yes, the dealership said to keep driving it with the hope that the issue would resolve on its own. Yes, seriously.

Not a solution, but a band-aid, but I'd suggest putting it on a trickle charger while at home. Will save your batteries from repeated depletion, at least, and keep it useable until solution is found.

This is not the first time this issue has been discussed, I’ve actually seen 5 threads on this particular topic over the last 2 years.

In the pictures you posted the drivers door is obviously open but does that icon disappear when the door is closed?

So I went and did some fiddling with mine and I wonder if the brake pedal position switch is out of adjustment? It doesn’t take much movement of the pedal to wake up the dash, this would effect both stick and automatic Jeeps.

Good question. Yes, it appears when the doors are closed and the key fab is not close to the vehicle.
